EDOCSO PROTEST ROCKS EDO STATE OVER FUEL PRICE INCREMENT:

Members of Edo Civil Society Organisations today took protest to major streets in the state capital to bear their minds on the recently increased pump price of fuel by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

We are not against the deregulation of the downstream sector of the oil sector or the removal of subsidy until curtains things have been put in place before such deregulation as it stands now, the fate of fuel price will be hanging on dollars exchange rate per time.

The Federal Government should first, Fix our refineries, license modular refineries, build new refineries, stiffen security in our ever porous national borders. The new price regime has made life unbearable to the people of Nigeria as such we cannot afford to keep quiet.

NIGERIA SHOULD HAVE NO BUSINESS IMPORTING FUEL IF WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING.

THE AGITATION CONTINUES TOMORROW UNTIL THERE IS A REVERSAL OF PRICE.
