Laptop Does Not Wake Up From Standby Or Hibernation by Nobody: 6:19am On May 18, 2016
In this post I will summarize most common laptop hardware related problems and give some suggestions how to troubleshoot or repair them.
The main components of a laptop are the LCD display, random access memory (RAM), battery, keyboard, and hard drive. Other than the LCD display, the other parts of a laptop can easily be replaced. Laptop hardware problems usually start with the power connector or power supply.
1. Laptop does not wake up from Standby or Hibernation
2. Laptop wont wake up after closing the lid
3. Acer S3-391 does not wake up from sleep after windows 8 upgrade.
4. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - Unwanted auto wake-up from hibernation
5. Monitor won't wake up when coming back from sleep (Windows 7)
6. My laptop doesnt boot at all, getting IO error (File: \Boot\BCD, status: 0xc00000e9). : DELL Inspiron 1090.
7. XP: Error on resume from hibernation
8. Network Disconnects when coming up from sleep and doesn't automatically connect when rebooting
9. Switch user when computer wake up from sleep
10. Blue screen after computer waking up from sleep mode
Causes
A wake-up problem arises when you put the laptop to sleep (in Stand By mode) or hibernate it. Atimes when you attempt to rouse the laptop, nothing happens. Likely causes are power management issues, or monitor failure. your computer may be going to sleep because it's battery is not holding a charge. Try taking the battery out and plugging in the power pak and then powering on the machine. If it powers up you might most likely have a bad battery. Some computers won't power on without the battery in place. depends on the maker. Try another battery if possible, charged would help. If the battery is good, but not charged, the internal battery charger may be gone.
For some Laptop systems turn off computer. Remove all attachments and battery. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds. Attach Power and insert battery. Start computer and tap F2 at the Toshiba splash screen to get in BIOS. Press F9 to reset system defaults. Press F10 to Exit saving changes. Select Yes to complete process. The computer will restart.
Look out for my next post on solutions for the above Laptops problems.
