Much a do about the NLC strike. Look Mr NLC, Nigeria is in serious trouble! With the most recent borrowing to finance our budget deficits, Nigeria's debt now stands in excess of $60billion. We have lost over 0.5 million jobs in the past year. Nigeria's GDP growth have slowed from a previous 6 - 7% on average to less than 2%. Nigeria's oil revenue have fallen by more than 60%! Our job growth is in the negative, inflation is at an all time high at 20%. Income and wages have declined by an average of 18%, and GDP per capita has shrunk! You want to tell me that after seeing this abysmal economic indicators, you want to go ahead with a pointless strike? To what end? You want government to pay out $8 billion to fraudsters that would import half of what the committed to import, pocket the rest of the money, haord half of the half imported and sell to neighboring countries? That aside, where would the $8 billion even come from? Are you aware Nigeria had to borrow to finance 30% of its budget? Do you want to increase the sufferings of the already plundered Nigerians by the massive corruption and poor leadership that have been rife in the past decade? What is the essence. A strike would grind the already shruken economic activity taking place in Nigeria. A prolonged strike in Nigeria at this time can be likened to the "finishing move" mantra in mortal combat. NLC please don't be dumb, time to wake up and help PMB bring back Nigeria's heart. It is useless and pointless going on a strike. It would only serve to damage our economy, kill our jobs and cripple Nigeria to the point of no return. -CramJones CC: Ishilove, obinoscopy seun, laslasticlala 1 Like |

@op ...I don't think their agitation is about subsidy removal or deregulation of the downstream sector...No! It's about #145/litre of PMS...it's high! If you say you were subsidizing at #17/ltr before..then #86.5+17 should be #103.5 ..at most #105 and not #145.. My opinion 2 Likes |

NLC should accept the fact that subsidy is dead and buried. No going back to subsidy. 1 Like |
