I think now, most people will be able to deduce where the largest blocs of Middle class and Rich people are, by state and by regions.
Yorubas had always gotten the middle class..

Jesu!! The Gap between the South West and the other regions is so huge, it is not even funny.
And these people said Lagos was 9 Million in 2006, but active phones alone don almost double official population figure for Lagos cheesy cheesy loool.
Same goes for Ogun and Oyo.....
Nigerian government kind of lies are not common sense lies, even a toddler will know when they see it. grin

Lagos is nothing less than 25 Million, Ogun and Oyo are no less than 10 Million and the South west as a whole is no less than 57 Million people if almost 44 Million of the people there can afford to keep their phone lines active, not to mention all those remote villages in Northern Oyo, Ilaje and Ijebu creeks and near the Benin borner that have no cell coverage. (Multiple lines notwithstanding, I would have said 65 Million)
some people have more Dan one lines dat dey use actively.. ... Let's say d truth 90% of Nigerians use MTN as their major line while other networks are just there. So I'll rather prefer we use d figures for MTN to judge because u hardly find a Nigerian without an MTN sim. Presently I use an Airtel n MTN sim which means I'll be counted twice thereby doubling d figure.... so u understand y Lagos number of subscribers is more than d population of 2006... ITS DKY

Yes, a hardworking man does not stay at home. His statistics counts at his place of work.

Stop beating your chest over statistical figures that constitutes over 50% of foreigners.

Ants are attracted to honey. The SE is not a land flowing with milk and honey hence the exodus. The region is a barren land and the owners know this but will never acknowledge it because its shameful.

The fact remains that people from your region are adept at using twisted logic to subvert the truth rather than acknowledge it. You are free to keep wallowing in your delusions.

The other day, a UN report tapped Onitsha as the most poluted city in the world and an eastern tried to use their usual twisted logic to explain the indictment away by saying that is inevitable because the city is heavily industrialized. I asked the fellow whether Onitsha is has more industries than Ikeja, a province of Lagos or other heavily industrialized cities in Europe and the South east Asia, he failed to respond.
Its your stock-in-trade, keep on.

The claim to business success by easterners is fraudulent because its based on crime. In a sane clime, your people would be wiped out of afluence because their so-called business cannot thrive where law and order is effected.
Importation of sub-standard products, manufacturing of fake drugs, replacing the original engine of generators with fake engines, selling chalk powder as capsules and tablets, etc, are the source of your wealth.
With a sanitized society, your so-called business acumen would be debunked.
Time will tell.

Don't mind them.
I am Igbo from the South East. over the past 3 years or so, i have registered more than 20 active cell phone numbers in Aba, Onitsha, Nnewi and Enugu. Anytime I return to Nigeria I usually purchase 5 or more sim cards in Lagos (2 MTN, 2 GLO and 1 Airtel) and all of them are registered and active in Nnewi, Onitsha, Enugu and Aba grin grin, So go figure out how accurate the Abia, Enugu, Anambra figures can be.

Active line is a line that was used not longer ago than three months. So a state with 5 million such lines has more population and larger economy than one with 4 million such lines. It is an indication of population and economy size surely but the figures dont imply real population of phone using adults, in my opinion, it will be less than double the population of adults. I used two phones for instance but one is no longer active. The average is between one and two phones for adults.

Then SW is Yoruba even if there are some Igbos and Hausas and etc there. How many millions sef? If we are 60 million in SW, non Yorubas can not be more than 10 million and more than ten million Yoruba are scattered in places like PH, Calabar, Kaduna, Zaria, Kano, Jos, Warri, Onitsha, Asaba, Abuja, Minna and all major cities and towns in the country. They spend money there and have investments there which surpasses what non Yorubas have in Yoruba land.

My guy let me educate u small cos it's obvious u are a YOLOBA TRIBALIST on the loose. From ur post u ve already concluded that the South East is the least populated region in the country which is a blatant lie unless you are more enlightened than our Colonial Masters that established the fact that the Igbos were one of the three major ethnic groups in the country. Secondly, most Igbos are either in other parts of Nigeria or beyond our borders. Many of those phone lines and Internet access figures u see there are actually owned by Igbo folks. The Igbos most likely are the second highest in population apart from the indigenes in most if not all the States across this country. Lastly, there are SO MANY Igbos indigenous to the South South Region namely the Ikwerres in Rivers and the Ikas in Delta State so why the beef and u claim to have Igbo cousins! The South East for ur information has been underdeveloped or even undeveloped by the FG as an unofficial policy since the end of the Civil War. That's why most of the youth have 'fled' to other regions especially Lagos and Abuja & also outside the Country in search of 'greener pastures'. I know what am saying cos am well travelled within the country and am currently living in the East. Almost all my childhood friends and pry/ secondary school classmates have either left Nigeria or aren't staying in the South East at all! So my guy stfu and stop spewing rubbish here all in the name of tribal bigotry! Well, am not surprised cos most of you YOLOBA guys hate the Igbos with a passion as if we are stopping u guys from achieving ur dreams! I guess it must be out of inferiority complex most likely. So Mr. Man, when next u wanna post here get ur facts right or be objective in either ur criticisms or praise singing and stop spreading tribal hate on this forum. Good day!

Can't you just make a point without being stupid with the insults?.......and who told you that only igbos uses multiple network lines.....and even if you add up those tribes you've mentioned, igbos still won't match the population figure of the yorubas........and why's dream are you even talking about because all around me, I can see as much successful igbos as i've seen amongst yorubas so stop being ignorant.......and whose fault is it if your leaders can't think of ways of developing your region?......try to dey use your sences next time my brother.

Shioor.. 50% foreigners ko, 100% Aliens ni.
those figures for the SW you see there is nothing less than 85% Yoruba. And Lagos is the ony reason it is even that low. All other tribes have the other 15%
You better go think of how to save ur region from massive brain and labour drain

where is Lalasticlala sef....
Haba, the population of Igbos, Hausa, Urhobo, Bini, and residents from the south and the north, would only put the combined population of Yorubas in Lagos at most 40%. Ogun state is also very cosmopolitan, Even Ibadan, rent increased greatly as a result of the migration they have received. My brother, the south west region in Nigeria is the most heterogeneous region in Nigeria,

Even Osogbo, I have seen many threads whereby southeasterners were shocked about the constant light situation in Osogbo and thought of migrating there. The population of Yorubas in the south west would be at best 60%, it can’t be more ., with Lagos being a huge part of the population of south west, even Ogun and Oyo, coupled with the fact that there are many Hausas and fulanis in many villages in the south west. It is a far cry from being 85%. Even 70% is not comprehendable.
