(On a separate note, I always thought this 606 has Band 8 as well? Hmm. Band 8 is the better of ntel's two bands, I believe.)

I've suspected this difference n performance in the bands too. Especially when you are far from the mast only band 3 will.get to you. It goes further

I can do that on my phone but I'm not ready to turn my phone into modem. Sure way to kill the battery

It's not really expensive. It's within the average price range. You can go for this

I wasn't bluffing... Read the last three pages or so, and you'll see the testimonies (some positive, others negative) from those who are currently subscribed to ntel services. Like with most other networks, quality of service depends on your area.

You're right... I also don't believe there's currently a way to specify the use of a particular band on any of these mainstream modems/Mi-Fi's. I was just hoping that band 8 was there. At least the device would fall back on it in case ntel goes down on band 3 in one's area, which it certainly does — ad infinitum.

But I'll readily use my phone on band 8 as a hotspot from time to time, unless I experience severe cases of overheating, for instance.

So i got this unlocked huawei e5573s-606 mifi off aliexpress and it works well.
But.....
I've not been able to flash a new web ui because my system (win 8.1) wouldn't detect it in device manager ports.
Now when i connect and install the autorun software in the modem, i won't be able to access the cd-rom from my computer and it still doesn't come up in ports section of device manager.
When i try the web ui update software it keeps giving error 10: ports not found.
Any help or tip?

Instead of you guys stressing yourself much in this.. By Nokia 2 it work for all band of 4g LTE in Nigeria and 4100mah battery.

From the specs, it says it supports band 28 (Glo) too

LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600), 40(2300)

The truth is that i haven't done these things in a very long time. I don't even remember how to bootshot any longer. you could check out this guy's videos on YouTube, hopefully they turn out helpful
