Kylekent59: Most cars are fitted with speed liniters from factory, for instance most Mercedes Have a limit of 150mph , there was a gentleman's agreement between manufacturers to keep it civil at 150mph. The fact remains Nigerians drive dangerously for the roads they have. Everyone is in a rush |

magicminister: Apart from the corruption aspect the price us much besides it's not always good to install a device to limit a vehicle to a certain speed especially in Nigeria where there's no security, again what if there's an emergency? Or when passengers are under threat. |

This shouldn't be introduced in Nigeria. You must maintain high speed at all times while driving to avoid 1. the herdsmen 2. BH boys 3. Robbers 4. Police, and many more. where is the road sef? 1 Like |

I seem not to understand this device when installed; assuming you'll have to overtake 1 or more vehicle on a single lane (@120km/h-speed limit ) and another vehicle is coming from the opposite direction..... |

As usual, a system to impoverish the already battered Nigerians is being cooked up. Why install the speed limiting devices to the car, why not install radar systems on the road? And how dare them fix a cost to be borne by the masses, since this is at their instance, it should be installed free of charge. This system has proven to fail in most cases resulting in fatality and therefore not totally reliable plus it is prone to manipulation by skilled car re-wires. Firstly, install a simple devices on the glasses of all cars, this will be given free along side the Vehicle particulars renewal licence at no extra cost. Radar system installed in areas where the probability of over-speeding are more, plus all strategic points where speed needs to be monitored. The devices senses the speed of the car via the unique glass stickers and transmit violations to the FRSC control/Monitoring Centre. This will in turn raise an alert of violation to the registered mobile of the car owner. If any car passes the radar system, but no reading is obtained, a picture of the plate number is taken and sent also to the Control centre where a harsh fine is generated and sent to the registered mobile of the owner of the car with a possible jail term for tempering of federal device. This bill is cleared during vehicle renewal processes and no harassment should be allowed whatsoever on the road by FRSC officers on motorist . This is how to implement ideas, not the ones that impale the people consciousness, finances and introduce additional burden on the already overburdened citizenry. Make them go sit down for gutter with this their speed limiter stuff. Its just a ploy to make some individuals billionaires overnight and after few years the enforcement would die down. I still remember vividly the reflective sticker story of few years ago. It has gone extinct. Nobody talks about it again. thats the same thing that would happen to this speed limiter device. |

May the angel of death visit the families of those reps and frsc officials who are promoting this. How are motorists expected to raise 36k to put a device in car. If the government approves those then I support all terrorism and militancy in Nigeria to an extent of many civil wars targeted against the center. Again, God punish those who are behind this, and punish their families who enjoy the gains of their wickedness. |

[quote author=gateleo post=45913534] This is a very unwelcome distraction. A vehicle moving at 10 Km/h and suddenly encounters a huge pot hole on the road may have an accident. And what about if the driver is just drunk or sleepy? Surely no device can stop the consequences. We need good durable roads first. It is when goods and services are unavailable or far in between that people hasten to get to them. 1 Like |
