A yet to be identified motorcyclist “okada” was killed and his bike taken away by an unknown men in Lobi Quarters area of Makurdi, Benue State.
Residents woke up to discover a body lying lifeless with what appeared to be machete said the sad incident may have occurred at about 5:45 am.

Confirming the incident, the Benue Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Moses Yamu , said “Yes, we recieved a report of an unidentified corpse suspected to be an okada man around Lobi quarters at about 6am today.
“Investigation has commenced into the killing but we are yet to establish if he is an okada rider or not.”

The government has banned the activities of commercial motorcyclists in Makurdi from 8pm to 6am due to the rising spat of killings within the town.
