Angry prospective 2016 Batch A Stream 2 corp members are planning to stage peaceful protests today (Wednesday, May 25, 2016) over continued delay by the National Youth Service Corps.



NYSC had announced the postponement of the Orientation Course a few days ago.

It made the announcement on its website, as well as via text message to prospective corps members.

“NYSC Management regrets to inform you that 2016 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course in all states including Adamawa, Borno and Yobe in stream I has been postponed due to logistic reasons. A new date will be communicated to you in due course. Please accept our sincere apologies”

The postponement is coming two days after the NYSC said that the Federal Government has released funds for the orientation course.

In reaction to this the would be corp members have mobilized themselves for a protest.

Let me tell you guys my take on this protest, we are not against the DG we are tryin to get the attention of the federal governement, he said till nxt week, did he give a particular day and he doesnt have the power to say wen we are going or not cus he doesnt have the resources at hand except the federal govt gives them..... So this protest is to let the federal govt to be aware of how the situation is
