#OneYearInOffice: Ohanaeze Hails Ikpeazu, Sets Up Vigilante Group by copley: 10:37pm On May 25, 2016 |
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Wednesday, commended all the governors of the old eastern region, including Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State for their achievements within the last one year. The leadership of the Ohanaeze Youth Council stated that the Governors deserved commendation for delivering the dividends of democracy to their people since their assumption of office in the last one year. The group further disclosed that after a poll it conducted as part of its democracy day assessment, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state emerged as the overall best performing newly elected Governor in Igboland. The poll, according to them, covered such areas as infrastructures, security, education, health, transparency in governance, youth and women empowerment and participation in government and other vital indices. The chairman of the screening committee of the poll, Mazi Okemiri Alex congratulated all the Governors and noted that all of them were winners in their own respect. He noted that the group will also announce the best performing Igbo lawmaker by June. While extolled other Igbo Governors, the group commended Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state “for personally constructing a befitting Secretariate for Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a rare feat in the annals of Igbo history.” The group also urged the Governors to support the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Gary Igariwey in their bid to pilot the affairs of Ndigbo. They also called for the building of an “IGBO HALL OF FAME AND CENOTAPH” by other Igbo Governors at the Secretariate to complement the effort of Owelle Rochas Okorocha. The group also noted that they had set up an Igbo Vigilant Group, IVG, to tackle the security challenges in Igboland. They called on the governors and other good spirited individuals to support the group. Read more @ http://www.buzorpages.com/2016/05/one-year-in-office-ohanaeze-hails.html 6 Likes

Ohaneze are shameless greedy elders representing only but their pocket. They are sychophants and should never be taken serious with their assertion. Shameless people who sold their conscience to APC govt even when APC govt has no agenda for south east except to forcefully take away their farmlands with fulani herdsmen. These shameless elders pretended as if all is well. 4 Likes 3 Shares |

Vigilante group?! 56 Years later, Nigeria heading rapidly Backwards, Fayose, Hunters. Ikpeazu, Vigilante. Is this how he plans to turn Abia to Dubai?. Thank God for the sophistication of Lagos and Ambode, no time for bull shit, its Helicopters, Drones, Super spy cars and Surveillance Bikes |

diegwu01: I'm just about saying the same thing...... Most of these governors are not creative at all, most of their innovations on development are short sighted. Instead of creating a well organized state security unit, they're busy grouping up vigilante group that will pack up after his tenure expires. Why not make developments that will benefit the people on the short and longrun. 1 Like |

YorubaHighness:What did Tinubu, Gbenga etc do for their respective states? Does it mean Yoruba kingdom celebrate mediocrity? I don't think so! Ohaneze is deluded. I fear for the future of our country as the crop of "youth" political leaders we have now will make the likes of Dasuki et al appear as saints. 1 Like |

SKAMOD: Abuja is currently a capital, yet it can't beat Lagos in anything. Lagos is the way it is because of visionary Yoruba leaders. 1 Like 1 Share |

Ikpeazu should pls fix Enyimba stadium biko. The club needs to get back to its spiritual home ground. So let him release the money asap. That's my own expected contribution from him. |

toprealman: Your question makes no sense. Who is Gbenga and who is celebrating him? If you don't know what Tinubu has done in Lagos, ask Obiano to replicate Lagos in the East nau. Ibos love celebrating criminals and mediocrity. |

see the way some people are attacking ohaneze even when the news have nothing to do with them. Ikpeazu is being celebrated because of his developmental stride in the last one year, however little, because of the way Aba in particular was neglected by the past governors. on the issue of vigilante, every part of the country have its peculiar security challenges.Fulani herdsmen are yet to attack Lagos so Ambode buying copters, bikes and so fought to fight armed robbery is in order but that can't be said of Ekiti or Enugu where Fulani hersdmen attack people in the dead of the night and disappear. 2 Likes |

diegwu01:Obiano has helicopters as well....so, Lagos isn't the only state with a visionary leader.... Anyway, putting some things up is one thing, those machines actually functioning at optimum level is another thing. The black man is not known for proper maintenance of anything |

copley: The poll, according to them, covered such areas as infrastructures, security, education, health, transparency in governance, youth and women empowerment and participation in government and other vital indices. OP, all what you listed falls under infrastructures now........needless re-listing Security, Health and Education again since all are under the umbrella of infrastructures |
