They will definitely have to protest. No private academic institution will be able to hire the kind of teachers we have in our govt schools. They can hardly speak good English. A Little poll for nairaland parents... If your child attends a public school, click like... If your child attends a private school click share... I already know which team will take the cake... If our educational system will be revamped, then we need privatization. The only sad fact is that a lot of these 'so-called-teachers' who can't write the national anthem will be out of jobs. But then again, we have capable graduates who are unemployed, and can fill the void. Paint Colour Ideas For Your Living Rooms 3 Likes 9 Shares |

Hand missionary schools back to the owners. Many of these NUT folks are used to the indiscipline of state schools . They spend more time attending to private business than teaching. They place their own children in private school while not educating the children of the poor. Job for life without doing the actual work is the mission . The government should move quickly ,do the needful and use the money saved on improving the quality of non-mission schools . Out parents went to missionary schools and the quality of education they got is comparable to those of any private schools anywhere in the world today. Those schools bred men The government can legislate that a quarter of admission into the mission/private schools must be local students (tuition free) 6 Likes |

They are only fighting for their own interest, knowing fully well that privatization means bye to their jobs. (promise to absorb them into other ministries and they will drop the placards immediately) They barely care about the children they are teaching. And they never upgrade their skills. They use same note over and over without updating it. They have no right to sing education must be free because given the opportunity they will charge the kids higher. If anyone should be doing this, it's the parents. 1 Like |

I support the privatisation of the schools but the question is that, can it work effectively to deliver the best we need in educational sector because there are set of people that would back it for there own pocket without considering the purpose it. |

Schools built by the missionaries should be handed back to them and we will witness a transformation. Then government should work out how to revamp the remaining schools because the quality is so low! |

I support the privatization, the good ones among d teachers has nothing to fear, our education system need to be revisited, it is characterized by low quality teachers, if u've ever attended a public school, u'll understand better. Some english teachers can't even communicate effectively in english....bt my fear is, if d move is a a result of harsh economic condition, then d govt is nt getting it right, otherwise I support d move. |

This is a step in the right direction. If it were possible, all states should implement take this approach. Privatization would relieve the lazy hags of their jobs in the educational sector and welcome folks that are actually really good and can impact knowledge. There are so many teachers in these schools who are barely literate themselves. Additionally, the government can now direct resources on projects that should inevitably increase productivity...well, one can only hope they do. |

Btppolitics: Government should not be in the habit of privatizing public schools, instead he need to carry out necessary reforms like bringing in churchs, give out more private licenses, closing some schools and merge some schools. |

Though I support privatization..... I still think that it will be a disaster for teacher, as their salary and allowances will be cut drastically....So it might be an uptrend for education but it is surely a downward trend for the teachers. |
