These Ijaw boys should hurry up and blow it all.......... It will get to a stage when educated Itshekiri, Isoko and Urhobos will fight them and ask them to leave their territory. These are lazy, uneducated Ijaw criminals in collaboration with Biafrans.

These people have to realize that there are other communities in Delta state that have oil and begging GOVT' (lobbying NNPC for decades) to come and drill oil.
E.g Agbor and kwale communities have oil and gas in their territories. Govt' should negotiate with those communities with fairness and start exploration.

Federal govt. should also re-negotiating with other states that have oil and willing to cooperate. E.g Rivers, Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom.

Re-route the pipelines flow direction to avoid Bayelsa and Delta South.

Speed up the drilling of Lagos crude oil.

If they follow these measures, FED GOVT' can savage 1.2+ million Barrels per day then concentrate more on Agriculture and mining.

THE NEGATIVE ECONOMIC IMPACT ON THE REGION WILL BE SO BAD because MORE THAN 60% OF THE ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES AND HOUSEHOLD INCOME IN THOSE AREAS DEPENDS ON OIL.

Treat every Nigerian equally and all national problems would have been solved. But continue with the current system, even the salvation areas you mentioned will still rise against the system in the nearest future. The problem is not ijaw or igbo problem but a national problem that successive governments has always played ostrich with instead of facing the truth and creating equal opportunities for all nigerians irrespective of their nationality. Thats the bedrock of patriotism. Thats why americans are who they are.
As long as some people continue to have some senseless pseudo sense of entitlement more than others in nigeria, i assure of a continous cycle of restiveness and rebellion. For now, REGIONALISM can remedy the mess we currently call Nigeria as it breeds healthy competition among regions. cool

Op...u need to think outside the box in this instance. You're still stuck in the mould of playing one group against another and while their jabbering away, u swoop in to steal. It's like a wound, u cover it up nicely and it looks good but it's festering. Soon it gets gangrenous unless it is opened and properly treated. It keeps spreading too.

These other areas u called are ND arras and the same FG still has to secure those areas. If dem no succeed for Ijaw land na d oda ones dem go protect?

Finally asking d FG to redirect pipelines and whatnot to more amenable communities will be a very expensive project. Do they have the money? Are they sure of investors?

This will not work

The best thing is to forget about protecting the pipeline and concentrate on eliminating NDA. At this post FG shld focus all its military might on finishing them. They are only succeeding because FG is trying to protect what they have vowed to destroy.

OP...you want them to start drilling in Igbo communities...Kwale and Agbor? Kwale and Agbor speaks Igbo that is clearer than Ebonyi Igbo.

Are you yorubba? Why didn't suggest drilling in Lagos and Ondo?

Lols. And do you think they are not rich enough to extract their crude themselves and use in generating money?
That's even what they want.

The last thing this government will do is negotiate with saboteurs.

If you ask me, since the cowards have adopted guerilla tactics instead of facing the might of the Army, they should be allowed to destroy as much as they can while emphasis should move to erasing every support for human survival that the militants depend on, which is within government powers. Yes, a blockade.

But first, the criminals must be given an ultimatum to surrender and the people must be given an deadline to produce and stop shielding their sons, since they have refused to form a Civilian JTF to fish them out like their Borno counterparts did and prefer sleeping in the bushes. Upon expiration of the ultimatum, the blockade and a sustained thorough military operation should be carried out to fish out the criminals, while government migrates its focus to less volatile areas as the OP indicated.

Nigeria cannot be blackmailed, especially not with violence.

Stop this divisive tactics. It won't work. Every living thing in the niger delta wants resources control.
So if they can negotiate with Akwa Ibom and others what them negotiating with all?
Why nt withdrew the military and deploy them to the farms and mines?
Let's face the truth this will continue until Nigeria is restructured. The sooner the better.

Though I understand some Igbo, I understand Agbor Igbo clearer than Ikwerre or Ebonyi; in fact I cannot understand Ebonyi or some of Imo. My good friend is from Agbor.
