Lagos State Gov To Make Yoruba Language Compulsory In All Public Schools by maxdozie(m): 3:43pm On Jun 03, 2016
The lagos state government has decided to make teaching of yoruba language compulsory in all public schools in the state.

Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule on behalf of the lagos state governor, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, said that the subject would be thought in primary schools and junior secondary school. Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule also added that the imposition the western culture and language on Nigerian children has done a lot of damage to the rich local cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.

Speaking yesterday at a stakeholders forum organized by the Lagos State House of Assembly at Academy hall, Agidingbi, Ikeja Lagos on the need to make Yoruba Language a compulsory teaching subject in all schools in the state, he added that it is important for children not only to learn the language of their environment, but also the culture and people’s general way of life.

I see this as a great improvement in Nigeria as a whole, What do you think Guy??
