1: I don't have a Car
2: I don't know how to Swim.
3: I don't imagine finding myself in that situation.
In case I do, if I call Abubakar 3 times inside water , bro I'm gone. Ahhahaahah.
I knew swimming was not my calling when I almost died at Liberty Stadium in those days of Ibadan Boys' iSchool..

You attended Ibadan Boys' High School? Nice. I also did. WAEC SSCE class of 1997. I was the assistant senior prefect from 1996-1997. "Domini Opera Pro Bono Publico". wink
Used to go to Liberty and Adamshingba but it was basically to play basketball and football. Never entered the pools. Besides they were way off my way home. Stayed in NEPA Quarters Jericho Idishin. But still risked it to go to these stadia. Boys will always be boys.

ikbnice:
The first thing you will hear is people shouting Jesus, Blood of Jesus.
But OP, this post relates to private cars o not fully loaded commercial buses.

The name of Jesus is the last hope of a dying man.

It can turn situations around.
It has raised the dead.

It averts accidents,
For seldom does a true son of His get caught up in the threats of life.

It instills boldness in the moment of distress.

See what His name can perform:

I bind unto myself today
The strong Name of the Trinity,
By invocation of the same
The Three in One and One in Three.

I bind this today to me forever
By power of faith, Christ’s incarnation;
His baptism in Jordan river,
His death on Cross for my salvation;
His bursting from the spicèd tomb,
His riding up the heavenly way,
His coming at the day of doom
I bind unto myself today.

I bind unto myself the power
Of the great love of cherubim;
The sweet ‘Well done’ in judgment hour,
The service of the seraphim,
Confessors’ faith, Apostles’ word,
The Patriarchs’ prayers, the prophets’ scrolls,
All good deeds done unto the Lord
And purity of virgin souls.

I bind unto myself today
The virtues of the star lit heaven,
The glorious sun’s life giving ray,
The whiteness of the moon at even,
The flashing of the lightning free,
The whirling wind’s tempestuous shocks,
The stable earth, the deep salt sea
Around the old eternal rocks.

I bind unto myself today
The power of God to hold and lead,
His eye to watch, His might to stay,
His ear to hearken to my need.
The wisdom of my God to teach,
His hand to guide, His shield to ward;
The word of God to give me speech,
His heavenly host to be my guard.

Against the demon snares of sin,
The vice that gives temptation force,
The natural lusts that war within,
The hostile men that mar my course;
Or few or many, far or nigh,
In every place and in all hours,
Against their fierce hostility
I bind to me these holy powers.

Against all Satan’s spells and wiles,
Against false words of heresy,
Against the knowledge that defiles,
Against the heart’s idolatry,
Against the wizard’s evil craft,
Against the death wound and the burning,
The choking wave, the poisoned shaft,
Protect me, Christ, till Thy returning.

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity,
By invocation of the same,
The Three in One and One in Three.
By Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord

How about those that can't swim. And again you know how it is once you under tension, all those rules is just not in your head, all you will remember is to get out as quick as possible, by any means.

Please is there anybody that stays in kano and can help with accommodation. Help a friend, want to visit but have no body there to accommodate me over the period i will be staying. Please help a friend. Tanks

Hahaha, you were the ones that met the State Government Provided Furniture. We had to bring ours and they were always broken.

Perhaps I did punish you.hahahahah. But I was a calm an quiet assistant senior prefect. Infact I was not given Senior Prefect because I was not Yoruba and couldn't speak the language.

You probably met Mr. Afolabi the mean maths teacher. Mr. Popoola (Mr. pope) the Music Teacher. Iya Ewa the English Teacher. My dad had come to the school one day to arrest Mr. Afolabi for flogging me because I did not carry his bag from the gate. The guy ran away through out that day. He went home and did not come to school.

We battled and intimidated the School of Science Students. We hated them then and we were mean to them. They were given special treatments right before our eyes. The good old days. During riots against the military we would block the Oke-bola/Molete Road and escalate the whole thing. My mum once caught me rioting. grin grin grin . I will never forget the shock on her face. One of those June 12 riots. grin grin

We battled other schools physically during Principals football tournaments. One of the worst battles was with Comprehensive High School. Battled for 2 day. Then there were no guns. Machetes, cutlasses, UTC Axes and Charms were used. Chai person don see something o.

And hope you met the ants we call "eka omo ogun Somalia"? Terrible biting ants.
