What a manner of people! Heard storm destroyed the only floating school at Makoko in Lagos. Went there to do a story on it and highlight the plight of the people. But guess what.

The people asked me to pay to do the story. The Baale's son specifically asked 15k as settlement to do a story that was supposed to call attention to the difficulty of the very poor people of the community.

He convinced the father not to cooperate with us. God help the children of the floating school who have no school again, at least for the moment. I neva see dis kind one before. Madness!

Pay to do a story that would bring help to them at the end of the day? While they should be the one paying the journalist. This is the height of illiteracy.

It is unfortunate that even at the lowest level, corruption and moral decadency still thrive.
