PRESS RELEASE.
10TH JUNE 2016.

The True Face of Religious Intolerance in Osun State.

The usage of Hijab on school uniforms in secondary school as directed by the law has ignited unwanted religious imbroglio in Osun State. This has ultimately become the center of discussion in both religious and intellectual ambiances, and the political juggernauts are carefully keying in to make a cheap political points.

The Center For Human Rectitude wishes to advise CAN in Osun State to seek measures to better the morality of the Christians and Muslims in the state instead of countering the Hijab Freedom judgement on school Uniforms.

It is never on record that the Muslim community sued the federal government for allowing the weekly holiday on Sundays and Saturdays which were carefully chosen to respect the Christian Days of Worship.

Nigerians have never ever read it anywhere in the news where the Sultan has filed a case against the Federal government for allowing students to use cross chain on their necks on their school Uniforms and also questioning why many government school principals would force Muslim students to close their eyes and pray in the Christian way with free bibles giving to them in a literally compelling manner. So we ask, where is the tolerance?

Muslims in Osun have sought the legal way to claim their rights in Osun State without violence.
The CAN of OSUN state should do the same to seek for theirs.

Governor Fayemi as a Christian governor endorsed Hijab usage on school Uniforms in Ekiti State. And in this case, the government of Osun State is a defendant.

Many government owned schools in US and the UK and many other advanced and developed countries from were missionaries came from allow secondary school Muslims students to wear their hijabs on their School Uniforms.

So, why the uproar by CAN, Osun State Chapter? Should this be tagged a lack of international exposure or a deliberate attempt to jeopardize the peace, circumvent the law and score cheap political goal? Could it equally be correct, as being speculated in some circles that CAN is merely being used as a political tool in the hand of politicians.

Frankly speaking, the act of seeking a divisive and counter disposition by anyone against the freedom of expression of other people that is fully entrenched in the Nigerian constitution is a huge lost of priority, a celebration of ignorance and open invitation to anarchy.

The Center For Human Rectitude humbly implores Nigerians to be calm on this tensed period in Osun State. The Legal System is there to address the issue appropriately.

We align ourselves with many sane minds who believe that true advocacy of tolerance is a reflection of respect for the fundamental human rights of others.

Under normal circumstances school Hijab is never a part of school uniform... and government school is not a Muslim school... lagos State rejected the use of Hijab and it was ruled out in court because is not part of school uniform... why is it now Osun State want to introduce Hijab as part of school uniform this is uncalled for... and some Muslim clerics will continue to claim the wrong fact..

It is known as tolerance: present uniforms do not sufficiently cover female modesty which is an important part of morality in Islam.

Making allowances to accommodate such values for the Muslim faithfuls cannot in anyway harm or interfere with the learning or discipline of any child in the school - can't see why Christians are so opposed to this.

Increasingly, even in the so called better climes like America official uniforms are being modified to accommodate female Muslims; it may also be recalled that male Sihks have long been similarly accommadated, with admission of their distinct turbans into many uniforms, including yhat of the polic force.
It is obvious that Nigerian Christians are simply being intolerant of Muslims out of spite; they just want to make like as difficult for them as possible, especially through the use of media manipulation, which they largely own and dominate.
