THICK OIL VS WATERY OIL
this question has been asked severally but I've been too busy to attend to it.
Frankly speaking both Oil is from different species of oil palm.while d former is processed mostly from Agric breeds, d later is from locals.
Both Oil are good and serves different purposes. It may shock u to learn dat those who know Oil will go for d thick Oil always cos of its diverse applications outside cooking.
pls do not take sleeping Oil as thick Oil o mbok,a typical e g of thick Oil is handmade Oil from d IGALA tribe in kogi state.
Now bk to business, as far as d Oil is first grade, whether thick or watery does not determine d quality. d quality is dependent on factors like odour, stearin/olein ratio, moisture content etc
Wht are d advantages & disadvantages of this two brand:

Any amount depending on your financial strenght is good! it's more about ur passion and discipline.
Your customers could be market women, companies, middlemen or wholesalers.
where to buy from! hmmmm, hard question buh always go for quality @ affordable price and most importantly ensure u get d value of wht u pay for.

I asked a miller relation why the price increase and he said that most millers are concentrating on palm kernels for now. The price will still drop but this should not stop anyone from stocking.

In continuation of our series, today we take the watery oil and examine its characteristics, advantages and disadvantages:

Oil is said to be watery if the stearin proportion is less than 5%. In a lay man language, watery oil is usually very light, does not sleep even when refrigerated and is usable at whatever season.

ADVANTAGES OF WATERY OIL
it is convenient and most suitable for stew making
it has less fat/cholesterol content
it can be used at any time of the day
has less FFA, hope u know d meaning
It is best for storage purpose cos it hardly congeals

DISADVANTAGES OF WATERY OIL
its light and requires high quantity per cooking batcht
its use is restricted to only production of vegetable oil(RBD) and lighter fractions of olein
it cannot be used as coating agent for most snacks

while it is the most suitable oil for consumption, watery oil does not find vast uses when compared to the thick one...........we will deal wif that later.

if you are on this thread and still cannot identify watery oil, simply refrigerate d oil for two days and check back, if it doesnt sleep or congeal then they u go..............thats it or simply put a stick into it, a watery oil should not meet any resistance along its way.

Most of you guys have good intentions, I must admit, but the truth remains that it's totally unfair and wrong to derail someone's thread.

From what johntrevolt said, someone he referred to madam peeo thread was hijacked and later did business with another person, does it sound good and fair to you?
