Oshiomhole presents three jeeps to Ogbemudia

EDO State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, on Monday, presented two jeeps and one utility vehicle to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and governor of the defunct Bendel State, Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia.

Governor Oshiomhole, who presented the vehicles to Dr. Ogbemudia at the former governor’s residence in Benin City, the Edo state capital, extolled Ogbemudia for the way and manner he handled the issue when he was asked to return the vehicles given to him by Senator Oserheimen Osunbor.

Oshiomhole also lauded Ogbemudia’s developmental efforts in the state when he was the governor.

“In the part of the state that I come from, the only roads that lead to various communities are the ones that are fondly referred to as Ogbemidia road. You demonstrated that what a leader needs is a clear vision and a total commitment to public good and the legacies are still there. Several years later, myself, I become governor, you have already set example,” Oshiomhole added.

The govenor said he had always appreciated the good work done by Ogbemudia during his first tenure as military administrator of the defunct Midwest Region and that was why he always had personal respects for him even when they found themselves in different political parties.

The problem with Nigeria. Why take from the poor market woman who struggles to pay her govt rates(taxes) to buy three jeeps for a man who has it all. I grew up in Midwest State and I know the Ogbemudia family well.

Where are the armed robbers to carjack these undeserving and corrupt ex governors with free cars. Nobody gives an Ex governor in the U.S anything. The Ex Vice President is not even entitled to security after his term of office.

President Obama made an exception for Dick Cheney to have security for a limited time at the request of the Secret Service because of proven threats.

Ex Governors in America often go back to work in the public and private sector when they leave office because they are skilled. Nigerian Ex Governors who have looted the states finances are treated like kings with cars and police security by the same states their imcompetence and greed devastated. Pity

all what the governor has done is to follow due process, all retired governors are entitled to those benefits, he had the right to withdraw the cars given by the formal governor because the governor was illegal so also were the cars illegal, so why the RANTS?

PS: When lucidity sets in, ask yourself where it's written that all former governors are entitled to three jeeps. Also ask yourself why Jeeps were given out now in his tenure. Why weren't they handed over to him during the past administrations?

Oshomole cannot see the nasty roads all over Edo states, lack of drinking water in over 75% of the state, unpaid teachers, lack of health care etc. But wants to fist Bleep Edo state and lick his fingers clean as he reaches toward his preteens keyboard to tote up his billable hour with the relic of old decay dinosaur of an era greatfully forgotten.
