Screenshots make it very easier to explain a process or to show-off an online product’s feature. A good screenshot can really get users interested in testing a product or equally make an otherwise long tutorial seem easier to follow along. There are numerous screenshot tools available for every desktop platform in this present time and even mobile platforms are somewhat spoiled for choice but the tool and ability to take a screenshot isn’t always enough most especially when aesthetics matter. Standardized Screenshot is a Google Chrome extension that takes screenshots of visited web pages. It will not scroll a web page and capture all of its contents but it will resize web browser window to 1366px, frame the screenshot in a macOS window frame, and also add a cool drop shadow all in one click.

Now install Standardized Screenshot and navigate to the exact web page you would want to capture. Click the extension’s option button and step back as it resizes the window and captures the present web page.

Right click on the image when it opens in a new tab and save the image to your hard-disk.

The extension works very well but some time when resizing the window, it will end up scratching the web page you are trying to capture. If it does occur when you try to capture a screenshot, all you need do is resize the window manually. You don’t really have to resize it to 1366px by yourself but increase the width so that the extension will not end up stretching the web page out and then capture the screenshot.

Standardized Screenshot will only be able to capture what is inside the current window and not the whole web page. It doesn’t have support for scrolling a web page and it cannot work with screenshots captured from a different tool. The only criticism we have of the extension is that it should have allowed the user to select the length and distance of the drop shadow. Currently, it seems a bit much. All the screenshots are saved in a PNG format.

Install Standardized Screenshot From The Chrome Web Store
