You got it wrong. Soldiers lucky to participate in UN operations are paid handsomely in dollars. I don't know how much Buratai earned from participating in operations like this but I know he had the opportunity of serving in such operations for many years. I also know of a sergeant who served in Sudan and on his return built a fine house in a state capital all from the generous dollar allowance he earned from the peace keeping operation. As a general Buratai was certainly paid tens of thousands of dollars( millions of naira ). Since he has declared his Dubai property as required by law it is left to his accusers to link him with specific act of stealing public money rather than just insinuating that by owning property in Dubai he is automatically quilty.

Those two properties in dubai are worth about 220m(fo the two). The question is can a man that has gotten to the rank of General and served in various multinational forces outside be able to legitimately save this amount?

I can beat my chest on this,there is no nigerian army officer that is not involve in one shady deal or the other.From illegal deductions on junior personnel's peacekeeping allowances,to diversion of a deceased soldier entitlement and various budget that are earmarked to improve on their barracks.Etc.

It's a known fact that no single public office holder in Nigeria is non-corrupt, not even pmb himself.

It good to know he has agreed he indeed owns the properties and he purchased them through savings but the funny thing is that there is no salary beyond 1.5 million a month in the official Nigerian Army Salary Scale

I think the explanation seems plausible, it will take the EFCC to properly investigate these claims and determine if there is any case to answer. The fact that Buratai declared the houses in his assets declaration clearly shows he was in the very least acting transparently.
