PC crashes are becoming rampant by the day. They can knock you off for a long time and even put you out of business if you don’t have a backup option. Here are
naijalaptopfix.com top reasons why PCs crash here in Nigeria with precautionary measures to ensure you don’t fall a victim to PC crash.
SUBSTANDARD AND WRONG ACCESSORIES: Wrong accessories are evidently the most profound reason why PCs crash so much. You may have noticed your PC started ‘misbehaving’ after you changed that power adapter, RAM, Hard disk or any other accessory. There have been cases where substandard adapters ‘burnt’ and damaged a PC motherboard. Also, using an accessory that is not specified for your PC can also spell harm.
Using a Dell adapter for your hp PC simply because they have same port can crash your PC because the two adapters are different and would never produce same effect even if they output the same voltage. You should replace your damaged PC accessories with the specified accessory for your product. You should replace a Toshiba adapter with a Toshiba adapter, not Acer or Lenovo (expect some few cases). Also ensure you buy genuine accessories.
ROUGH HANDLING: PCs are electronics and as such needs care and attention. You should be careful about where you drop your PC after usage. Generally, PC are better kept away from children, liquid and dust reach. It’s also nice you don’t operate your PC in a hot environment as hot temperature is generally not good for PCs.
Rough handling a PC would slowly and consistently wear out the PC components until they won’t respond well again leading to a crash.
It is best you handle your PC with all care and attention you can so you can get the best out of it.
POOR MAINTENANCE CULTURE: PCs need to be maintained periodically for them to continue functioning properly and efficiently. Let’s say desktop PCs for example need to be opened up and blown up with a dust blower because when dust accumulates overtime, it can cause a RAM failure. When dust and debris accumulates over time on a laptop keyboard, it would result to a keyboard failure. By brushing/dusting your laptop keyboard, you can prevent a keyboard failure.
OVER-HEATING: A lot of laptop PCs have been destroyed by excessive heat, mostly microprocessor overheating. Overheating in PCs is mostly as a result of inadequate ventilation for the microprocessor. The microprocessor does a lot a work any time you use your PC, and this results to the processor producing heat. This heat is controlled by the processor cooling system. The cooling system consists of a fan and a heat sink. The heat sink is a heat conductor, and so it collects the heat from the microprocessor conducts it to the heat sink vent where it is cooled by the fan. If the vent is clogged by dust or debris, it would definitely lead to inefficiency in the system and subsequently to overheating in the PC. This heat over time would dry up the PC components like the capacitors and other ICs in the motherboard, this ultimately leads to a PC failure.
You can avoid over heating in PCs by using your PC in a debris/dust free environment.
POWER SUPPLY: A fluctuating power supply will ultimately lead to a PC failure, or in some cases lead to the failure of some PC components. In a laptop, it could destroy the power adapter.
It’s wise you ensure your PC is plugged into a UPS or an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) as this would ensure your PC gets adequate power supply.

WRONG USAGE: This is an obvious reason for PC failures. For example, over loading a non-graphic PC with excessive games beyond its capacity will definitely lead to over working the processor and this ultimately leads to crashing the PC. It is nice you stick to the right usage of a PC.
Wrong usage approaches like playing video games with your keyboard should be avoided, get a joy pad.
N.B: Bad hard disk, RAM, hardware conflicts, virus and wrong BIOS settings can also lead to PC failures.
