As the Niger Delta crises lingers, everyone is talking of True federalism.

Myself, many other Nairalanders and So many Nigerians.

It is ONLY Buhari that has not spoken on it and seems not be hearing. Or probably he's pretending not to be hearing.

In a Democratic dispensation, the will of the people proceeds personal believes. For once, this issue of reconstruction should be reviewed. Someone needs to be talked to. If he's not hearing the wailers, his supporters should talk to him. Nigeria can fare better as one Nation, but definitely not under the present structure. Negotiations with Militants isn't the solution. Restructuring the political and economic structure is.

Until that happens, the dependence of the Nigerian economy on oil will never stop. The textile industry won't resurrect. The groundnut pyramids won't resurface. The cocoa processing plants that turned monuments won't come alive. Our manufacturing sector won't leave this stage of infancy and our economy will never assume the strength to carry our population.

And until these things be, there will be no jobs. And when there are no jobs, the youths are unemployed.. And when the youths are unemployed, they become restless.

If they are in the North, they turn herdsmen. If they're in the East, they join IPOB, and if they are in the West, they turn Yahoo Boys or they rob Ikorodu.

But if they're where I am, they locate a creek, turn to avengers or take up one intimidating name like that.

Why are people still talking about true federalism when you all know that the North are stoutly against it? They have vowed that it will never come back so how are you going to get the 2 thirds needed at NASS to bring it back? Anyone who is still talking about true federalism is just wasting their breath.

Let all the folks you mention become Nigerian President, they will shy away from your so called "true federalism". Anyway, there is nothing like "true federalism"-you only have Federalism.

How would you explain the step Jonathan took in calling for a National conference.

If our leaders are silent? Should the youths also be?

It is ONLY Buhari that has not spoken on it and seems not be hearing. Or probably he's pretending not to be hearing.

He has SPOKEN on it.
We should expect that he will now ACT on it since his party, APC has the majority in NASS to pass any required constitutional amendment.
That is assuming that he has any iota of INTEGRITY in him and is not a CORRUPT person who says what he has no intention of doing.

Seems Socrates saw the future, Buhari to be precise and made that wise statement.

Is Buhari a cursed one ? Why would things get to his turn and take a bad shape just for him to point fingers at others ?

People have chosen NOT to use their brains in this country. So heads are being knocked against rocks in futile attempts at cracking the rocks, I think it is heads that will split open. So for the upteenth time:
1. It is not Buhari's job to institute this funny thing called "true federalism ".
2. It is not in APC's manifesto and PDP did not also promise any such thing.
3. The Nigerian urban middle class should stop confusing itself with unworkable theories . This is not the time for true federalism. The states don't have the internal resources to do it.
4. If you are a dumb Niger Deltan who is looking at oil and gas, the FG is owing JV companies about $6bn as we speak. The work program for next year is probably another $3bn and the oil itself is being sold below cost price.
5. People should stop over simplifying issues and actually go into the nitty gritty of things. Maybe then they will realise that the current problems Nigeria has can only be solved by hard work, discipline and not stupid tinkering all to avoid pressure.
6. There is no free lunch anywhere. Even.the developed world is just on a razor thin distance from another depression.
7. When we stabilise the economy , diversify effectively into agriculture and solid minerals, I believe we can then have viable states and then.we can institute true federalism.

Finally again, it is not Buhari's job. It is not in his job description and it is not in his oath of office.
Start your journey from the National Assembly.
