CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO MUSLIMS ALL OVER THE WORLD ON THE SIGHTING OF THE MOON OF SHAWWAL AND CELEBRATION OF EID

All Praise belongs to Allah. May His peace and blessings be showered upon the noble prophet Muhammad, his household, his companions and the generality of the Muslim Ummah, till the end of time.

Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!! Allahu Akbar!!!

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit under the leadership of Amir Mas'ud Kolawole (Asqolani) congratulates Muslims all over the World on the sighting of the moon of Shawwal and the celebration of eid.

The Amir's message followed the declaration of the moon-sighting of the month of Shawwal by the President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III tonight (4/7/2016) and therefore implore Muslims to continuously imbibe the lessons of the blessed month, as it was a school and teacher.

Amir Asqolani reminded the Muslims of the necessity to pay their Zakat-ul-Fitr before going out to the Eid ground tommorow morning with the intention of lifting the burden of the indigent Muslims within our communities and also advised Muslims to fast for six (6) days in the month of Shawwal, as this is a sunnah of the prophet for those who have the ability to do so.

The President of the Society call on the Muslim Youths in the State to imbibe the spirit of the blessed month and be good ambassadors of Islam, wherever they may find their selves, as though the month of Ramadhan as come and gone but the lessons in it MUST continue to reflect in the lives of the Muslim Youths.

He however encourage the entire Muslims in the State to continue praying for the Nation, as they keep the virtues of the sacred month, as a spiritual guide towards our accelerated development as individuals and a Nation.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy and prosperous Eid. May Allah shower His blessings upon you and grace you with joy and happiness always. EID-IL-MUBARAK

MSSN does not have the authority to announce the sighting of the moon. We're yet to hear anything from Sokoto or Saudi. From the looks of things, the fasting might extend till tomorrow
