Soleymania: 1, Poverty is high in Nigeria. Fact is majority of Nigerians are poor. This is not an Akwa Ibom phenomenon. 2, Elites ride on Nigerians. This is everywhere. From Sokoto to Iyesin to Obio Akpa to Ikeja to Ogoja to Aba. Nigerian elites are same everywhere. Distinction is in the name. 3, Unfortunately Lagos is Nigeria's most developed state, so that can be accepted. My school mates when I was in Port Harcourt saw us(Lagos folks) as exposed; that's because they haven't been to Lagos. How much more Akwa Ibomites? 4, Uyo is a small city, no biggie about touring it in one day. This isn't Ibadan (largest city in WA), 50%? More like 70%, this includes those who passed through states and not necessarily visit them. Men lazy? Most Nigerians are lazy. Arrogant? Yes and loath taking corrections. Yorubas aren't contiguous to Akwa Ibom, so it's not every time you get to see one. Every Nigerian accords excessive respect to individuals with jeeps and exotic cars, this isn't peculiar to AKS. Private TV? The market isn't there yet, however, number of radio stations has shot up. 5, Quite unfortunate. However, there has been an increase in persons seeking higher education as everyone understands that things can't be done the same way. How can MAPOLY be better than Uniuyo? That's preposterous. What's is/are your methodology(ies) used in ranking? Akwa Ibomites unfortunately aren't used to a cinema culture or an advanced mode of "flexing", it's understandable. 6, Owning a Keke only attract a certain class of girls(ladies). This is Nigerian and not Akwa Ibomitic. There exist class differences everywhere. Your Keke wouldn't move an ant in Ewet Housing Estate. You get the analogy? Akwa Ibomites love strangers/visitors unless in the interior villages, which is still peculiar to Nigeria and not only AKS. Igbos are an industrious set of individuals, no argument about this. However, most Nigerians are lazy. Akapbio is to Akwa Ibom as Wike is to Rivers as Aregbe is to Osun as El-Rufai is to Kaduna, it's Nigerian. Road from Abia is a federal government project. Heck, most fed roads are bad. The state isn't behind, actually it's growing. Inquire from Wikileaks's documents. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

I did my NYSC here in 2005, the best state i have ever stayed aside lagos, they believed so much in witchcraft, they are the cleanest set of people in Nigeria, their girls are very good in house chores so i recommend them for wife material, they are very accomodating, i toured all the local govt in Akwa-ibom and their women are the same when it comes to hardworking, the state can surpass Lagos- state in terms of aesthetics, only if their leaders are utmostly sincere because an average akwa-ibomite standard of living is still very low, it is a state with a lot of hidden resources but depends only on oil, they have crayfish at ibaka, atabong, they ve enough palm-oil and very rich palm-wine(i usually get free palm-wine cos i was a kegite chief and the only chief during that 2005/2006 NYSC Year in Akwa-ibom) i always wish to visit akwa-ibom every now and then 1 Like |

dovezeeta: Akwa Ibom isn't the richest state in Nigeria... Just because she receives the highest Federal Allocation doesn't make her the richest. There's a difference between income and value. As much as I'll agree with you that there are negative characteristics of the state, but your first few lines shows you're a saddist and just out to killjoy. 1 Like |
