another interesting slide which shows the different and unique flight trajectory's of Shourya ballistic cum cruise missile with boost glide reentry vehicle (BGRV)

one trajectory is a hypersonic glide path ie extremely depressed trajectory
this is done to attack targets at close distances, it is a very difficult technology to master as the missile might simply break up under heavy thermal, aerodynamic, structural loads encountered at such flight profiles while flying at hypersonic speeds.

another trajectory is a normal pure ballistic trajectory

another trajectory is a combination of pure ballistic trajectory with end phase hypersonic ballistic glide

note: i have previously predicted here that the Shourya will end up as a ASBM in a different avatar , the pure ballistic trajectory with end phase hypersonic ballistic glide fits in right with trajectory required for a ballistic missile to successfully target a ship moving in the high seas provided there is real time targeting data to support the same.

The Shakti thermal torpedo runs on monopropellant fuel. The monopropellant fuel can generate 400kW of power and enable the Shakti to move at faster speeds almost double that of an electric motor driven torpedo

generally the warhead section is placed behind the sensor section (which is the frontal portion).

but ultimately it depends on the designer so it may vary.

eg.

in the DRDO submarine launched shakti thermal torpedo pic posted above

sensor section=homing head

warhead section=exercise head

(for practice/exercise torpedo versions warhead is replaced by exercise ie dummy / instrumentation payload)

am not aware of the present status
