Paul Le Guen is about to be named as Super Eagles gaffer after being shorlisted alongside Belgian Tom Saintfeint and Nigerian Salisu Yusuf. The Frenchman has being the favourite to land the job for some while and will soon be announced by the NFF to lead Super Eagles through 2018 world cup qualifying series and the tournament itself.

Going through his CV, Le Guen can't be affirmed good enough for the Eagles at the moment as we need a top experience tactician in the helms of affair of the National Team. He has served as coach at a Ligue 1 club, Cameroun National and lately Oman National team where he was fired. His greatest achievement is reaching the UEFA Champions League quaterfinal in the early 21st century. To me, the only difference between him and someone like Siasia, Boboye, Ogunbote, Makaiba, Amuneke, etc is the skin colour, nothing else.

In this development, I look into the football world to shortlist 5 top class coaches that the NFF should have approach for the country's top job. Everyone in the list fall within the wage bracket that will be offered to Le Guen rumoured to be $600,000 a year and $1.5 million bond given to the NFF by the NNPC.

1) Roberto Martinez: Recently sacked by Everton Football Club in the Premier League, Roberto Martinez is no doubt a top quality coach. The Spainaird has previously being in the helms of affair at Swansea City and Wigan Athletics before being appointed as manager at Everton. He led Swansea to a football league success before departing for Wigan. Despite not having big players, he ensure the survival of Wigan Athletics in the Premier League most coming from the late show they give toward the close of the season. He also led them to an FA Cup victory over favourite Manchester City with Ben Watson added time goal. He was appointed at Everton after winning the FA Cup with Wigan but also getting them relegated. He led them to the Europa League Spot in his first year in charge after narrowly missing the Champions League spot. He was fired in May 2016 after series of poor result and fans protest against him.

3) Gus Poyet The Uruguayan coach is currently with Greek side AEK Athens but will be ready to quit anytime he sees a better offer. Poyet served at Sunderland building a formidable squad that broke a long lasting Jose Mourinho home unbeaten run at Chelsea. Poyet was fired due to a series of poor run at Sunderland but got another appointment in Greece. He led AEK Athen to Greek Cup victory over Olympiacos in the just concluded season and also secured an Europa league spot.

4) Julen Lopetegui Lopetegui is Spanish Goalkeeper who played at Real Madrid and Barcelona. After retirement he served a goalkeeping coach at Real Madrid before advancing to coach Spain youth teams. Lopetegui won the Euro U19 championship and also the Euro U21 championship with Spain before advancing to manage FC Porto in Portugal. He built a formidable squad at the club and plays the tiki taka style with the club which he had also used with the Spanish youth team. He showed he is a better user of the tiki taka style after his Porto team defeated Guardiola's Bayern Munich 3:1 in the UCL. 5) Bob Bradley: Bradley is a well learned American tactician and the father to American soccer player Michael Bradley. Currently Serving at Le Havre but will also be looking forward for any better offer up for grab. Bob Bradley led the American National Team to 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup success defeating Mexico 2:1 in the final. In 2009, Bradley's American team ended Spain National Team 35 games unbeaten run defeating them 2:0 at the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup Semi Final in South Africa. Bradley will have being a FIFA Confederations Cup winner save for Dunga's Brazil second half 3 goals comeback in the final after USA had defeated them 2:0 in the first half. Bradley also served as Egypt National Team coach which assures us of African football experience. He lived in Egypt while serving as the National Team Coach despite the civil war ongoing in the country. This is an assurance he will be ready to live Nigeria if he had been considered.
