This is simply a red herring. Nothing in this judgement sounded like the headline of this post. The accused was not acquitted neither was the case against him discharged. The stringent bail conditions given to the accused/suspect show that the judge was not lending him any favour. I simply don't see any reason for lovers of corruption to start rejoicing and partying.

You really don't get it. When court awards you fine, you will pay it.

But if it grants you bail, you don't pay the money. Your surety will pay it if you abscond. If you attend court sittings, you or your surety will not pay it.

Sorry, the president will only qualify to be called a tyrant if he refuses to obey court orders or if he shows that he wants people punished to settle personal scores. But he doesn't need all that. Granting bail to the accused person with surety and 50m like sum does not mean that the accused person will pay /deposit the money to the court except on the event that the accused person jump bail. Seek legal opinion. It is embarrassing that majority of APC online supporters are abusive and illiterate..

This judge needs to be shown the way out. Remnants of the money-for-judgement judge still remains in the judiciary, they are clogs in the wheel of anti-corruption fight.
