Bde George urges PDP to appoint credible candidate. – Chief Bode George advised the PDP to appoints credible person as chairman
– He said failure to do this will jeopardise the party’s 2019 chance
Chief Olabode George has warned that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may be playing with fire if the right person is not made chairman.
The party has been rocked with leadership crisis since Senator Ali Modu Sheriff was ousted as chairman of the party and a caretaker committer was installed headed by Ahmed Makarfi.

Vanguard reports that George who is a former deputy national chairman of the PDP warned that if a credible person is not appointed as chairman of the party, the party’s possibility of winning the 2019 presidency would be in jeopardy.
The national caucus of the PDP in Abuja agreed that the next national chairman of the party would come from the southern part of the country as against the earlier decision to give the position and that of the presidency to the north.
The party however is firm about rooting the party’s presidency to the north to square with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The PDP chieftain argued that appointing an inexperienced person to the chairmanship position would do the party serious harm
“The chairmanship position coming to the South means if the party is serious, the party must look for a credible, responsible and respectable person, who has the network and experience.
“It has to be a person who has the details of the party and not some ‘’bambino.’’
“The PDP must avoid going from frying pan to fire and bring an appropriate person.

“Anybody lower than the level of the chairman of APC will be inappropriate. We have to get somebody that will be at par in political experience and understanding of the tenets of the party.’’
He said the party’s loss of power in 2015 to the APC would be repeated if a credible person from the south is not appointed.
George in a recent interview criticized Sheriff for declaring himself as the authentic national chairman of partyand blamed him for some of the problems the party was facing.
Stressing that the PDP was open for dialogue and reconciliation, George called on Sheriff to explore the option.
However, he also advised Sheriff and other members of the dissolved National Working Committee to accept the decision of the national convention.

So we'll have no choice than to elect a northerner in 2019?

Donald Duke should move to another party and he'll surely get my support cool cool

Bode George just spoke the gospel truth. The worst mistake PDP ever made since 1999 was to present GEJ for the 2015 presidential election even without primaries.. GEJ wasn't a popular choice among the northerners, he just wielded presidential powers to get through. PDP would have given APC a run for their money if Rabiu Kwakwanso had been fielded.

I'm expecting quotes from our brothers as usual.
