Ikpeazu Bans Street Hawking In Abia State by Nobody: 11:08am On Jul 28, 2016

Based on the report gathered from channelstv, Abia State Government has frowned at the activities of street trading by the roadside because it is causing the administration huge revenue loss and defacing the city centres.

According to the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Kate Nwosu, a bill is presently at the State House of Assembly that would make street trading and hawking illegal and a criminal offence.

She hinted that when this bill is passed into law, it would ensure that anybody caught selling on the street would be prosecuted and tried in the mobile court.

Meanwhile, those selling perishables like vegetables, fruits amongst others have been advised by the government to quickly relocate to a neighborhood market, close to them because the administration would not condole any excuse from any defaulters as soon as the bill is passed into law.

Chei!!! The dog had bitten this man to his death.

This is not the best of policy. Even the economic situation makes this policy the least priority.

No way, this governor cannot ban street trading in Abia. I will file a case at the High Court. Does this guy wants all his brothers and sisters to migrate to Lagos again? The ones that are selling Gala and La Casera in the Lagos hold-ups we are still trying to send them back to their villages in Biafra, you this Biafran governor now wants to send more to Lagos. All these Nigerian Jews will not fight their governor now, but when Lagos State governor said "go back to your villages and not die in Lagos hold-ups", you people started whining and weeping. You said Lagos State government should provide alternative for street traders. Now, here is the alternative - go back to your villages and farm.
