Feminism and Christianity don't mix?

I have always wondered if God supported feminism. Why would the Bible, a holy book give little liberty to women. I would have arguments with myself trying to figure out the truth. So, let's go back to the genesis of creation.

GENESIS 1:26a '...let us make humankind  in our image, according to our likeness...' Notice here how God didn't say let us make man like this and woman like that. His intention here was to give both the man and the woman the same human dignity, in his 'image' NO DISCRIMINATION.

In the bible, especially in the old testament, women were given little or no consideration. Heck! they weren't even counted except to be mentioned as sex slaves or wives. But some were exceptional, commanded an army of men and led them into victory. Women who had a voice, brave and diplomatic women. This was a rare occasion a one in a million kind of thing.
Jesus did the exceptional in his time, he involved women in his ministry. True he didn't have any female disciple. This was probably due to the sociocultural practices of that time. For example, lack of education for women. All of his disciples were Jewish. So, saying women cannot be disciples is equivalent to saying non Jewish cannot be followers of Christ.

JESUS DEFIED MANY CULTURAL TRADITIONS. Taking women seriously was the highest peak. Remember the woman by the well, his disciple were shocked. Imagine how that era must have been for women, their opinions weren't considered let alone taken serious. They were subjected to domestic works only. Jesus changed that, he wasn't a sexist, he didn't discriminate. He believed in equality. HOW? Jesus never affirmed any cultural limitations on women doing domestic work. He agrees to Mary wanting to sit at his feet and engage in Christian theology which he said was the 'better part'.
Feminism is a movement aimed at providing equal political, social ,  economic opportunities and civil rights for women. In short, it fights for justice.
(If you are still reading, sorry it is getting long). As Christians, we are expected to fight injustices. Sexism, sexual and domestic violence, misogyny, child pornography , sex trafficking, slavery of which girls are mostly victims are all forms of injustices. Isaiah 1:17 we are expected to fight for justice.
Jesus was fair, he showed us through his life and works that love was important. God is just , he didn't make one superior and the other inferior. Christ said 'love your neighbor as thyself' . We are expected to do to people as we want them to do to us.
