Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim on Thursday obtained the Peoples Democratic Party nomination form to vie for the governorship seat of Ondo State.

He was the first aspirant to pick the form from the factional National Chairman of the party, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff.

While speaking at the occasion, Ibrahim promised to defray the salary of workers in the state within 100 days.He stated that the Chairman of the party’s National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi has no locus in law to lay claim to the chairmanship of the party.

He said that Sheriff is known in law having taken over from Alhaji Adamu Muazu who resigned as national chairman before the expiration of his tenure.

Jimoh stated that he would better the lots of the citizens of the state by ensuring prompt payment of their salary.

He described governors who owe workers salary as people without initiative, adding that Ondo State has over 10 solid minerals which he would tap to develop the state.

He claimed he has over 8000 workers in his employment, and assured Sheriff that when he visits Ondo State after he (Ibrahim) would have won the governorship election, the state would have assumed a better look.

He said, “I will restructure the state in the area of capacity building, good innovation and by putting the right thing in the right place at the right time.

“I will pay the workers within the first day of my 100 days in office.
“Non-payment of salaries by state government is the failure of innovation of states by governors.

“It is when you are innovative that you will be able to pay salaries. Those (governors) who are owing are not efficient. I’m not owing any of my workers.”

In his reaction, Sheriff said he had known the aspirant long ago and assured him of his support.

He also described him as a capable hand that could turn the state around if giving the opportunity.

PDP can never go extinct.. they have always been there and will be there.

Good for him,as a well know philanthropist both within and outside the state he deserves the position of being a Governor but I think he needs a lot of explaining as regards so many business deals he has been associated in times past so as to win the heart of the ondo people. He seems to pass off as one the numerous of Nigeria's billionaires with a lot of baggage.

He is a joker and a dealer. Mimiko must have paid him to come and make some noise again. Ondo politics no be for small rich boys. who go vote for am? Naturally ,he should have been the ears of Pmb in the whole of Ondo but lack of principle na im b im problem. why has he been quiet all this while Mimiko has been raping the state? Of course Alimodu is his next victim in his ponzi scheme. who go vote for this political prostitute?
