'THE GOOD NEWS:

US Energy Firm to Site Solar Power Plant in Enugu

A United States of American based Solar Energy firm, Motir DuSable Power Investment Limited has announced its plan to site a 200 million dollars renewable power project in Enugu State.

Announcing the planned project in an interview with newsmen after briefing the Enugu State Executive Council, during its Annual Performance Assessment Retreat holding at Nike Lake Resort Hotel, Enugu,  which had the Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in attendance, the Chairman of the Company, Engr. Emmanuel O. Irono, said that the project would generate a total of 300 Mega watts of electricity that would span across the country.

Engr. Irono disclosed that the Company had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government on the power project, saying that the first phase of the project, which will generate 100 mega watts at the cost 200 million dollars, is expected commence in Enugu, tomorrow with the assessment of the land. He added that the Company would be a sole financer of the project.

The Nigerian-US-based Investor, also said that his intention was to create job opportunities and manpower skills for the people of Enugu State as well as enhance electricity generation in the country.
