Diversification, diversification and diversification. Such a big word, so sublime that it sounds good to the ears. Yes, this has been the mantra by the present government and we welcomed it with both hands. What Nigeria isn’t ready for as it stands today is the sacrifice that diversification requires. Crude oil must be sacrificed on the altar of diversification.

Can the country go the whole nine yards? As it looks now ,this is in doubt. The country is still in love with crude oil and thus making the romance crude. With billions pumped at Lake Chad basin in search for elusive oil. In pursuit of the elitist me mentorship club of oil producing region from the Northern Nigeria, we are losing this concept and losing it fast to status quo which is mono economy.

We are yet to see it, maybe our intellect hasn’t been diversified. I think that we have to diversify our mind before the economy. Why pump so much money in search for this black gold where we have them in abundance here in South. From Anambra to Ondo, from Abia to Cross River there are abundance of Hydrocarbon evidences, so why waste billions in search for the black gold. That billions used in the pursuit of oil in north can be used in creating hubs and Research and Development centres across the nation....https://etimesafrica./2016/08/13/nigerias-lips-service-to-diversification/#more-555

An area like the lake chad basin that's been ravaged by war, only meaningful development can keep the indigenes of such places busy and shun every form of terrorism. Secondly, it was easier for the boko haram insurgents to take over that place because government at both the local, state and federal levels neglected them, so it became easy for the insurgents to sell the idea of terrorism to them...what buhari is doing is the best way to rejig the economy of that area.

The Best way to diversify is for few Nigerians that have the millions and brain to start thinking out of the box.
Startups here and there.but government alone can't diversified or run the economy

First of all because we want to diversify doesn't mean we should abandon oil or not increase our oil production... There are plans to increase our maritime borders by over 60% and no one is talking about that, China is investing tens of billions of dollars into our oil sector and with that's our production should hit 6 million bpd, so leave the lake chad issue alone

Diversification is a long time project, the mining sector is starting to grow and with the deal signed with ajokuta, it's only a matter of time, deals signed for the rails and power plants will help also

Bro it will take over 10 years to diversify our economy so do the expect a quick fix
