Poverty: when looking at each letter, we now see poverty as P-poor, O-of, V-vision, E- everytime/everywhere , R- ready, T-to, Y- yield.. Poverty is just like a blind farmer without vision or sight and wanting to harvest. Proverb 10:15 the destruction of the poor is their poverty. It's a bad thing for a believer to be swimming in the pool of poverty: it make believer loose focus on the heavenly assignment and target. A ministry without money is just like a vehicle with out a wheel. I do hear this saying that "owo ni keke iyin rere" that is money is the vehicle to evangelism. The gospel of Christ which is the gospel of good news should not be preached on an empty stomach(physically, financially or spiritually). For instance, after preaching to a thief and he was touch by the word of God that was preached to him, take note that if this thief does not have financial support, spiritual update and encouragement from you in order for him to take his mind off those act of stealing.
Evangelism is not just preaching the good news but it's a continuous improvement and support of that person that as being preached to, until he gets to the stage of stability. Evangelism is fellowshiping with such person and ensuring he or she does not go back to his/her sins. Evangelism which the work of God need to showcase the glory of God in you, although you might say it take your time, energy and money,that is why we need wealth as a Christian to fulfill our mission.
Then why do few believer hold the wealth of the nation and top positions in the society. 15% of believer who are boss or owners of a firm employ a believer into their company. Wealth holder should be Christians and not pagans. Psalm 73: 12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
Psalm 22:7 The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Tell if this scripture is true and fair then the unbelievers who are the richest, lend to the believers who lack or who are dying in poverty,then the believers becomes a servant to the ungodly.it's not possible to serve God and Mammon (the ungodly). Any one under the slavery of the ungodly can't have the capacity to serve God.Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. When there's this love for God you will have wealth not just money. There's a different between having money and wealth
Wealth is more than we know, it's not all about riches but prosperity in all area of life. Definition of wealth: welfare; prosperity; good; well-being; happiness; joy; Riches; valuable material possessions. Its can also be seen as a great amount; an abundance or plenty and Power, of the kind associated with a great deal of money. While money is a currency maintained by a state or other entity which can guarantee its value (such as a monetary union). Or An item of value between two parties used for the exchange of goods or services. When a man love money , he becomes a slave to money by falling into debt or looking for anything that has value for financial exchange then give way for Mammon to rule his or her life. Money is alway exchange with something inorder to get it and its for awhile.so when a beliver goes ahead to borrow and forgeting that Money is the by product of having God. God posses the key to wealth, he said in the scripture that he will provide for our needs according to his riches in glory. Then why borrow from the ungodly, why be slave to the ungodly, why working for the ungodly in order for them to hold more wealth of the nation. is it that believer are too focused on heavenly crown and are willingly dying in poverty. No it is because they have forgetton the attributes of who they carry. 2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. Also in Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
Jesus was speaking of the good news the gospel of Christ and of grace,that we are to preach this gospel to others and also enrich them in Christ. Mark 10:21 tells us the necessity of being rich; to ensure that through us,others become rich and be saved from poverty. This same scripture still explain the cost of following Christ and benfit therein. We are meant to pick up the cross,follow him and enrich other people's lives in order to acquire heavenly treasures.
But it amaze me seeing believers saying seek first the kingdom of God and every other things shall be add into you. Yes this statement is true but its sometimes serve as an excuse, don't you know it's an heavenly mandate for we Christian to prosper. Job 8:6 If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
Ecclesiastes 5:19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
The gift of God is suppose to be meant for believers. Then what is wrong with today believer?
Now here are biblical outlines of why believers still remain in poverty, how to get out of poverty and reason to be wealthy.

Why we still stay poor
1. Lack of knowledge: Romans 13:14, 2 chronicles 1:12. It's written in the bible that my people perish because of lack of knowledge and proverb 10:15 say poverty is the destruction of the poor.so tell me the difference between destruction and perish in the both scriptures, it's the same and it's meant for the poor and those who lack knowledge (believer). If you lack knowledge, you become poor and if you are poor, you will be perish and be destroyed.This is the flow of prosperous people; Knowledge- wisdom- riches- wealth- honour. Anyone that's acquire knowledge, apply knowledge to get wisdom, by applying knowledge (wisdom) you get riches and accumulate wealth through riches and get honour for your wealth.
2. Proverb 10:15 - refused instructions: instructions make life easier to live. It's a safeguard to the treasures of life. Proverb 4:13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. Proverb 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life. By listening to instructions and adhering to it, you are both acquiring knowledge and at the same time applying it, this make Instructions the fasters way of getting wealth.proverb 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
3. Hasth to Rich that is get rich quick syndrome. - Proverb 28:22. Youth of nowadays want the faster means of getting wealth, they have never stop to reason that wealth accumulation (knowledge- wisdom- riches- wealth- honour) is a gradual process. That is why most of them loose it in life, they have loved money not wealth found in God. That is why proverb 1:16 says For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Because they have loved money so therefore given their life to Mammon. Its the love of money the brings this societal idea of get quick syndrome.When believer are in haste and love money they loose their faith and forget their God. 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
4.Companion of Vain persons - proverb 28:19 says He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough. A vain person is described as a person who is without purpose, fruitless, who is very loud of oneself or someone who is having a little substance. David was saying to God in Psalm 26:4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. Vain people are seeing as people who take life as it comes,sating with such people poison the heart. Sating with such people, they will make you their slave because you as a believer have purpose but they will subject such purpose under their will. They are waster of life and of destiny. They will never give wise counsel(proverb says Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war) because they have no purpose, their ways are evil and their generation will soon be cut off.

Why should I get out of poverty

For the glory of his house to increase. Psalm 49:16
3.To build a temple for God.
4. By making provison
As a strong city like tyre made provison for Solomon to build the house of the Lord 1 chronicles 14:1, 22:4, 2 chronicles 2:3, 2:11,2:14,Nehemiah 13:16

How to get out of poverty
1. Seek the wealth of your people and speaking peace with all men..Esther 10:3, 1 Corinthians 10:24, proverb 19:4.
2. By your craft - act 19: 25 1 Timothy 6:18
3. Rejoice in your labour- Ecclesiastes 6:2 stop complaining
4. Work hard - Psalm 66:12
7. Through Christ - 2 Corinthians 8:9
6. Working with workmen of like mind / occupation. Act 19:25
