michaelandre:are you sure you are from SS? Who's forcing what on you? Ignorance radiates like light with it's speed... You really need to read your history and schooling on it... Get an atlast book and read the informations on it from the world what the present bight of atlantic was called in 1996 up... Then your true history will confirm that your root you think you know is doctored. Let's be kind with words pls; but knowledge is fundamental. |

uckennety: See the way they are dragging which tribe is more successful abroad as if the so called 'abroad' cares which tribe we come from. We are all Nigerians as far as the international community is concerned. As for this Igbo & Yoruba delusion of grandeur, it is not a surprise. Most large tribes try to annex smaller tribes & contiguous regions just as the Igbo are doing in their dreamy Biafra. The truth is that even if Biafra comes to fruition, it'll be worse than Nigeria. Igbo & Ijaw shall take over Hausa & Yoruba. Then smaller groups will start fighting for their own independence too. Before you know it, Biafra will disintegrate. Even among the so called Igbos, there'll be bickering here and there on whom to rule and all that. Civil wars and ethnic cleansings will be inevitable. This time, minority groups will suffer it more than it was in 1967-1970. We are too sentimental and ethnocentric for a smaller nation. The current system, if reformed, will be best for us, especially minority groups like Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ibibio, etc. If Nigeria must disintegrate, Urhobos will get their own country or merge with Edo, their kith & kin. If Igbos want to go, FINE! Don't annex others with you because that makes you even worse leeches than the Hausa and Yoruba that you complain about every minute. Make your country ethnically pure to avoid squabbles because I know as an Urhobo man that MY PEOPLE WILL NEVER TOLERATE IGBO DOMINANCE! We can tolerate Hausa dominance because it is a general thing & we are still relevant in some, albeit miniscule, measures but Igbos will take it to a whole new level.

Re: This Is What A Friend Told Me Happened At A University In Australia... by fratermathy(m): 10:04pm On Aug 20, 2016 |
uckennety: Hate is a strong word. Of course we don't like Hausa dominance. Infact, by our very nature, we hate any form of dominance, even from ourselves. Why we would prefer that of Hausa to Igbo is because Hausas are more predictable. Igbos cannot be predicted & are very volatile. Hausas won't make a deal & go behind your back to change it. Yoruba is our next best option. The issue with Yoruba is that they play divide & rule politics like Awolowo did. Urhobos will always prefer Hausa to any other group in the country. If a war breaks out today, I'm sure we will fight for the Federal Republic and afterwards, we will negotiate our independence to be a sovereign state. In any case, Urhobos don't like violence & will never subscribe to it as a solution to the problem of marginalization. |
