From Ahmed idris- Aljazeera.....

On the ground in BAMA where devastation is total. In the words of a military commander, "the people may come back home. But the problem is, there are no homes."

The truth is this wee need to help our northern brothers, but instead of giving them fish let's teach them how to fish.

That region is good for wheat production, corn also will do well there, soybean will also do well. .. What am saying is this government should make these people form cooperatives, putting there farm lands together to have a large area were mechanised farming would be profitable..

This how it would work
They come together and form cooperatives (people who have lands together)
Government on there part supplys improved seeds, fertilizers and machines as loans to the farmers
Government also train the people on modern ways of farming to increase yeild

Government offers to buy the products at a fixed price, take the loan and give them there profit

With this they can settle themselves

How long shall we continue to help them? No school them no gree, even the ones when go school no fit speak english (Escaped Chibok SSCE writing students of the now infamous Chibok Scam comes to mind here). Be peaceful sef, for where? We go kill ourselves for them? Btw, why is the hypocrisy in you not allowing you to ask them to ask their leaders "what they have being doing with all the federal allocations and foreign aids they have being receiving even before John the baptist finally baptised Jesus?***** if it was a certain part of the country you for don they rant

This is an extreme condition and need extreme measures, am not asking southern states to contribute a dime
With 200bn This can be achieved and this can generate a wealth of 600bn if well managed by the FG, reduce price of food, reduce importation of wheat and boost the naira
U don't have to be myopic here bro
The fedral government would found some %, private companies, the state government and I think the Muslim community should pay 80% of that money tho... If the sultan ask every muslim to pay #500 into an account am sure we can raise the money

Little do this guy know that we have more oil in Nigerian waters( which no state owns) than on land, just wait till eugina and the other one come online, but have the capacity of close to 500,000 barrels per day, with China coming in we can be sure of 5 Million pay day very soon with 35 million from Nigerian waters

You can force a horse to the river but you cant force it to drink water. The north knows what their problem is. The other regions have their own challenges so also does the federal government. Should the entire nigerian system grind to a halt just so the north can develop?

The north needs a lot of soul searching to do.
