Cancers are triggered by the kind of foods and drinks we take. According to the Canadian Cancer Society, 38% of all cancers are triggered by foods and drinks. Some compounds present in these foods and drinks are what responsible for the menace. Though some of these drinks and foods are already part of us, but we take them on daily basis without knowing the threat they pose. These foods and drinks are identified as a result of some dangerous compounds found in them. 1. Soda Virtually everyone likes to take cold soda either for refreshment or stepping down the food we have eaten. But sodas, like coca cola and pepsi, appear in caramel color which is as a result of a chemical added called "methylimidazole." Several studies in the United States have shown that if we consume more than certain amount of this chemical, it triggers cancers. An acceptable limit set for methylimidazole consumption is... In 2007, this compound was discovered to have caused cancer in mice and was in 2011, declared a potentially carcinogen. Another ingredient which happens to be a standard ingredient found in every soda is 'aspartame'. This ingredient according to the studies, increases chances of cancer risk, as this so call aspartame affects the metabolic system of the body. If there is need for you to refresh, I will suggest that you go for smoothies, they are a better replacement. 2. Processed Sugar On daily basis, in one way or the other, we consume processed sugar, which is one of the most harmful compounds to human body, and being hamful is what most people do no aware. Unlike natural sugar which only found in the fruits, studies show that processed sugar serves as food for Brest cancer, hence, leads to tumor growth. An advice is that, go for a banana or an orange when you feel urge for something sweet. 3. Processed Meat What is harmful to the body and causes cancer in processed meat are the additives that change the taste and extend the shelf life. The World Health Organization, WHO, had in 2015 warned against eating processed meat, revealing in a report that it increases cancers risk.
