That won't be a problem, the rice mill has the entire rice farms in Kano as its supply base. Jigawa state rice producing areas of Hadejia, Auyo, Kafin Hausa, and Jahun are less than 80km to Kano. Any surplus from Dangote will be utilized.

Already, the Company is is fully committed to the CBNs Anchor Borrowers Programme which will make Nigeria a self sufficient in Rice Production and in the process to start with 30,000 farmers from Kano, 10,000 from Sokoto and Kebbi States.

The Company has engaged more than 200 cooperative societies with 5000 farmers in its direct input support out growers programme in Kano...

The current woes and pains Nigeria is going through will surely be the catalyst needed to speed up the industrialization of the country,people are quick to forget that before countries like China got on their feet through the cultural revolution led by chairman Mao,many Chinese lives were in discomfort but look at where China stands presently among the comity of nations.

Very good, clearly the hardship we are going through is making us think out of the box, this was how China becane a superpower.

Just imagine the value of dollar when we have self sufficiency in Rice,wheat, and Sugar then Dangote crude oil refinery starts operations, as the CBN said 75% of dollar demand are for petrol, rice, wheat and sugar.

I bet dollar will be atleast N100

This is a very good development. It will be good if we can achieve self sufficiency in rice production, lots of forex earnings used in importing it will be saved and put to better use. Kudos to the Kano state government and the Buhari administration for achieving this feat.

Rice gulp huge chunk of our forex. When we make its importation less attractive, the dollar just like the bombs will stop troubling us.
