That's a normal tactics.... Always go for cars in your area..... Avoid high-end cars with low price, most times they are too good to be true, if you must go for it, make sure you see the car first and speak with the person whose name is on the document itself 1 Like |

I met one who wanted to give me job on facebook, so he asked for 6500naira for form and N1K for air time. As a very sharp man, I asked for his office address that I will deliver the cash live in his office, the fraudster then told me that his office address is in Jalingo, I told him I will fly down. Next he sent account number, I played him that the account number was wrong and that I am in the bank, at last he decided to run from me. 2 Likes 1 Share |

That's what they do. He probably first asked you for your location. Once you tell him he will then tell you the car is in another location. For example if you tell him you're in Lagos he may tell you the car is in Abuja all in an attempt to make you send the so called fuel money for delivery. But why don't you just expose the identity of the scammer? 1 Like |

There are many of them on Jiji, Effiritn, and Olx websites. They will advertise a Lexus SUV for as low as 480,000 - 700,000(very ridiculous)They will post the location to be either Apapa or Badagry and would ask prospect to make commitment of atleast 10,000 for fuel so they can deliver at your door step. Some will pose with custom officer's picture, list cars with ridiculous price tag. I have called several of them in the past just to make them feel they have a mugu (naive person) at hand to swindle. People needs to wise up. Its even a risk buying any car online with the prevailing economic situation in the country cos some hoodlums can post stolen vehicles online for sale. Anoruo: 1 Like |

That pix of the car taken is not even in Nigeria. Thief all around preying for any gullible person. Only a stupid and greedy person that would transfer 10k in order to bring the car to the buyer's location. Too bad for Nigerians and their funny criminal attitude. 1 Like |

But OP why dont you give the seller a benefit of doubt and tell him to bring the car down to Lagos and probably you will pay him the 10,000 if you dont like it and he has to take it back. From my experience this car sells like hot cake in Benin. Almost every household in benin has a Lexus maybe RX300 or RX330, Highlanders and even Benz MLs. i dont know why they have a penchant for SUVS. Just my own 2cent probably the car was moved from lagos there if indeed it was ever in Lagos. I dont know the monetary value of the car hence i cant say if the price is ridiculous. 1 Like |

WriteBoy: just joking with fools that buy goods online despite the news we heard everyday.. I don't pity anyone that get scammed online especially Nigerian. Internet Market is a dark market. You either Enter the market and come out smiling or Crying. Why crime should not be supported, We also should remember the rules which says don't Send Money to any person you meet online.
