How Diverse Are We In Nigeria? Rep Your Tribe And/dialect! by loshybab(m): 10:58am On Aug 31, 2016 |
Hello! It's no news that Nigeria is embarassingly rich in cultural diversity but very few people know other tribes aside the major/common ones we've heard about in our community. Having served in one of the north-eastern states,I encountered people from relatively anonymous but lively tribes which include but not limited to Margi, babuka,Lungudha. I also notice if not for NYSC and people with flair to know more about Nigerian tribes, thereby makin dem travel far and wide, most northern people do not know other tribes in the south aside the yorubas, igbo, edo, ijaw et al while southern people too assume every tom dick and harry from the Northern Nigeria is hausa or fulani and some Nupes, igala, tiv, idoma et al in the middle belt. While this thread is to get people informed in the best possible way about the People of a particular area/LG/state,it is also to educate potential corp members about the localisation of any tribe in a given area. I'll start the trend by statin my tribe and dialect and the state of origin.....keep it rolling peeps:Y YORUBA....Ibadan (dialect)....Oyo state Cc: Lalasticlala Mynd44 Fulaman138 ......Help my ministry to the promise page please:N |

talkingdrum10:Nice 1 Meanwhile,I think idoma is a language and not a dialect A dialect is the sound/way a particular language is being spoken just as hausas have dialects lyk daurawa, gobirawa et al 1 Like |
