One of those things that mostly make Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State happy is seeing people whose vision and mission are the same as his own.

This revelation was unveiled at Ilutitun in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State at the weekend by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju.

Adeyanju who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in his ministry, Dr. Richard Adesoji, during the flag off ceremony of 3-day free surgery workshop and seminar, added that the best way to partner with government is to complement its efforts.

He therefore called on other Ikale people out there who have the resources to share the ideology of the present administration in the state, as the assuring that the government will not hesitate to partner with any NGO that is willing to embark on one developmental project or the other.

Adeyanju lauded effort of the sponsor of the programme, Dr. Paul Jesuyajolu.

Jesuyajolu is the Secretary-General of Association of Rural Surgical Practitioners of Nigeria (ARSPON) and founder of Graceland Hernia Foundation (GHE).

The 3 day free surgery workshop and seminar which is the third edition, is a collaboration effort between ARSPON and GHE.

Dr. Jesuyajolu who betrayed emotion and sobbed intermittently while expressing his sympathy on the plight of the rural dwellers said their survival was the main purpose of embarking on the project some years ago.

It is his hope to continue to cater for the healthy living of the people in the rural areas of Ondo State which he has started from Okitipupa Local Government Area of the State.

Many Ikale leaders who attended the flag-off and praise Dr. Jesuyajolu included Chief Sola Jesuyajolu, Oba Gabriel Faduyile, the Abodi of Ikale, Oba Michael Adetoye, the Jegun of Idepe, Oba Festus Olumoyegun, the Oniju of Iju Odo and the host monarch, Oba Ernest Idepefo the Majuwa of Moribodo – Ilutitun and Evangelist Niyi Pirisola.

According to the Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, Pastor Larry Ogunmusire, God is using the sponsor of the programme to better the lot of the people.

“You have been chosen by God to make your people happy, we are ready to partner with you. Please do not relent on your efforts,” he appealed.

In his speech, the Lord Bishop of Diocese on the Coast, Anglican Communion, Right Revered Joshua Ogunele applauded the initiative of Dr. Jesuyajolu, calling on other people to emulate him.

Ogunele called on the beneficiaries of the programme to offer thanksgiving to God because many have helplessly harboured their health challenges for many years and may consequently result into their deaths if God has not sent the sponsor to them.

The Chairman, Moribodo Planning Committee, Venerable Emmanuel Akinboyo thanked God for sending Jesuyajolu and members of the team of surgeons to the people at this time when people can hardly feed, let alone taking care of their health challenges.

Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture, Pastor Segun Ayerin described the gesture of the sponsor of the programme as very commendable, calling on well meaning Ikale people to collaborate efforts with the state government in its bid to make the place better than ever.

Mr. Ariyo Ogunje, a beneficiary who spoke on behalf of others applauded the Director, Graceland Hernia Foundation, Dr. Jesuyajolu, praying that God would continually bless him.

Physical screening for various ailments, treatment for minor ailments and surgeries were carried out freely as well as drugs freely dispensed to the multitude that turned out for the programme.
