Faruk Lasaki's "changing Faces" Can Change The Nigerian Film Industry by Orikinla(m): 8:19pm On Dec 17, 2006
Faruk Lasaki is one of the young turks of the film world who has made his mark in the production of award winning documentary films for Communicating for Change (CFC) and his 15 minutes short documentary "Scars" (CICATRIZES) won him $20,000 at the  É Tudo Verdade - Festival Internacional de Documentários in Brazil in 1998.

Faruk Lasaki is currently editing his first feature "Changing Faces" shot on 35mm.
I previewed it in our production office and studios in Lagos on December 9, 2006.

"Changing Faces" is a metaphysical romantic thriller on the transference of spirits through sexual intercourse. With an international cast of professional British and Nigerian actors and actresses such as Alex Lopez, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey and Ayo Mogaji, "Changing Faces" should be a box office hit once it is released.

Faruk was at the 31st Annual Toronto International Film to talk about his film.

"Changing Faces" is the kind of film that should win the Palme d'Or for Nigeria at the Cannes Film Festival and Faruk is even looking beyond Cannes to making the nominations for the Best Foreign Language Film of the Academy Awards in 2008 and I have already sent him the details of the criteria.

Faruk and his British editor are still busy with the post production of "Changing Faces" and the film should be ready for the world premiere at the next Toronto International Film Festival.
