The immediate-past governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has said that the exit of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was reponsible for the ongoing crisis besieging the party.
Daniel, who advised the warring Ali Modu-Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi to close rank and work together in order to ensure victory of party at the polls in 2019, said Obasanjo’s exit left the party with no more father figure to refer to in terms of crisis resolution.
The former governor spoke on a radio personality programme on a private station, Sweet FM, Abeokuta on Thursday tagged ‘Podium’.
Daniel, who noted that it was not only the PDP that had crisis, added that the All Progressives Congress, APC, was also engulfed in internal crisis but has been able to manage it well.

He said, “While I was the governor of Ogun State, Makarfi was a governor, also while I was still the governor, Ali Modu-Sheriff was also a governor. So the two of them are close to me. The two sides must work together, because the road to victory has no room for divisionism.

“It is not only the PDP that has crisis, the APC also has its own share of crisis. The only difference is that while, we in the PDP have not been able to manage our own, the APC has been able to manage their own.”
Speaking further, he said “If it were the time President Olusegun Obasanjo was still in the party, we would have gone to him and one way or the other, he would have resolved the crisis. Currently, there are many local champions in the party. The party does no longer have a spirit.”

PDP was a gonna from day one.
Just like a body dies when the spirit exit, PDP had no spirit the moment GEJ surrendered.

PDP is a failed party, they need to come together with trust and work together else they will run down for good. Though they are already drained.

PDP destroyed itself...

I thought you all gleefully celebrated seeing the back of Baba OBJ from your party. Now you are lamenting? Wonder shall never cease happening.

So Mr Daniel please face your front and face what has confronted your Party which you also help destroy.

The same way APC wud destroy itself if they aren't careful too..

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Who needs a corrupt, incestuous old man that thinks he is the only repository of all knowledge?
Except the youths are all dumb people.
Is that the case?

Unfortunately for APC, PDP will cease power in 2019. The failure of APC will only lead to a massive Exodus as the general Elections Approaches.
