Falana Asks EFCC To Probe FG Over $4bn Recovered Abacha Loot by dtnadeyemi1993(m): 2:39am On Sep 25, 2016
A human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), has petitioned the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, asking him to probe the Federal Government over the $4bn recovered from the late maximum ruler, Gen. Sani Abacha.

Falana said in a letter on Saturday that the Federal Government had failed to account for the money which was recovered in tranches between 1998 and 2014.

The senior advocate said the Socio Economic Rights and Accountability Project had approached a Federal High Court to compel the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation to account for the recovered funds but that despite getting the court order, the OAGF refused to provide the information.

Falana said, “From 1998 to 2014, the Federal Government successfully recovered over $4bn from the Abacha loot. However, based on the refusal of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation to account for the recovered loot, SERAP applied to the Federal High Court for an order of mandamus

“Even though the court granted the order, the Federal Government has failed to account for the recovered loot. In the circumstances, we have submitted a petition to the EFCC to investigate the alleged criminal diversion of the recovered loot.”

Nigeria; the reality on ground is survival of the fitness. I no longer believe what anyone tells me in this country or about the future of this country because I am seeing the present with my two naked eyes. Both EFCC, Fed or State Govt, PDP, APC, Senate, and every other Arms of Govt are all useless and has brought this once great nation to its knees so who like make him dey read Stuupid political news everyday, waiting for one miracle and not go hustle else hungry go beat you die. For how long we will continue to hear story like this, money running into billions stolen and no is brought to book even when the person is identified.

Only one man stole over $10 billion from Nigeria in 8 years shocked he also lodged this money in foreign accounts instead of helping our banks here

Today his children will celebrate parties and some gullible Nigerians will hail them because they are from the same region or religion

Propagandists are trying hard to tarnish the image of a man like GEJ who is being recognized far and wide for adhering to Democratic principles while reality on ground stares them in the face daily.

He told madam ojuyobo to give #dansukigate $300m out of it to add it to their campaign fund. Nigerians have 'technically' (in buhari's volume) recovered that during the last election grin

There's nothing to probe. The loots were relooted. God blessed us with someone like Abacha that had vision and helped us save money but our useless leaders have been looting the savings Abacha made

End of it all, they will say she has used 2.4 years already during the case that it is remaining only 2 months. And i trust the jailors cheesy as well, vip treats grin immediately the criminal comes in. Oye pumping, Chinese restaurant, first class medics and so on.
