5 Reasons Why You Are To Blame for Being Unemployed by Nobody: 10:03pm On Sep 28, 2016
It is saddening to see graduates apply for so many openings and still not get employed. In a bid to justify their ineptness, they often look for other entities aside themselves to blame. This article properly highlights 5 major reasons why you are the cause of being unemployed.

YOUR CV
The major weapon of every job seeker is the quality of his CV. A well polish and catchy CV will not only bring you closer to getting your most coveted job but rather it help you control the pace of the interview process. No matter how hard you try, a CV full of grammatical errors, wrong fonts size, ambiguities, wrong dating will outrightly receive an epic rejection by prospective employers. We often cry our eyes out as to why invite aren't fort coming forgetting the first major rules of INVITING an INVITE: present your CV in best possible ways. Your CV is your advocate, your spokesperson. It front for you where necessary. In fact, the importance of a good CV cannot be over stated.

YOUR APTITUDE
In a bid to get a high profile job, your suitability matters a lot. It is disheartening to see a graduate of say mechanical Engineering apply for every job that has to do with the course. Mechanical Engineering alone is an entity that can be subdivided into many parts. In order to excel at every job interview, make sure before applying for the job, you have at least a month hands on experience on what the job entails. An interviewer always consider what he/she sees on the experience section of your CV as your speciality and as such, questions will emanate from there which you will be able to answer effectively if truly you are prepared for it.

THE STATUS QUO
It is painful to see most graduates blame their under performance/unemployment on the common cliche " There are no jobs in Nigeria". Yes, we all know the economy is not something to write home about and policies aren't investors friendly. Does this warrant apportioning blames? Obviously NO. The state of things in this country has always been like this and so many people have made it. The state of things in Nigeria give little or no room for emotionally week minded. Employment in Nigeria is a battle of survival of the fittest. As a job seeker, you are bound to falter at interviews, never get engrossed in your failure because it ephemeral. Always learn from your mistakes and leverage on your strength.

LACKADAISICAL ATTITUDE TOWARDS INTERVIEWS
It is a common thing to see graduates go for interviews unprepared. After a heroic show of strength to demonstrate your skills at an interview, what hands you the job is how much you know about the company and welfare of their staff. Interviewer will not directly ask how much you know about them, that's more like spoon feeding you. It is paramount for you to seize every opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of company...

NETWORKING
In getting a good job, the importance of online networking cannot be over emphasized. Before you attend any job interview, do well to check your interviewers up on LinkedIn. By checking out their profile, it help broaden your knowledge of him/her and get you prepared with questions to ask after the interview.
With LinkedIn, you can also get connected with people of high repute who in one or two ways can link you to the job.

Feel free to add yours

Let me start by asking you this: what step have you taken to ensure you get a placement? Have you tried leaving your comfort zone to hunt for job?
the problem is that graduates often undermine the huge role of Internship. Yes Internship might not guarantee a better pay but if it tailored towards your aptitude, you are on a course for better and fulfilled future.
Jobs are out there, you are not just qualify to apply for them. Step out, gain hands-on experience through Internship and volunteering program. You'll thank me for this
