teletnobo:
1. False. Diabetics can eat anything as long as they watch their carbohydrate intake.
2. False. Diabetes will break the body down over time and lead to other complications.
3. B. Too much blood sugar because their body is desensitized to insulin or not making enough of it.

3. CORRECT ANSWER: Both of the above
Insulin is a hormone that helps your body turn sugar into energy. When you have type 2 diabetes, your cells don't respond to it like they should. This is called insulin resistance. When it happens, sugar backs up in your blood. Your pancreas makes even more insulin to get rid of the sugar. So you wind up with too much of both.

4. Bonus Question: The pancreas is the only organ involved in regulating blood sugar
True
False
False.
Insulin and glucagon are hormones secreted by islet cells within the pancreas. They are both secreted in response to blood sugar levels, but in opposite fashion! Insulin is released in response to excess sugar in the blood. The effect of glucagon is to make the liver release the glucose it has stored in its cells into the bloodstream, with the net effect of increasing blood glucose. Glucagon also induces the liver (and some other cells such as muscle) to make glucose out of building blocks obtained from other nutrients found in the body (eg, protein). During absorption and digestion, the carbohydrates in the food you eat are reduced to their simplest form, glucose. Excess glucose is then removed from the blood, with the majority of it being converted into glycogen, the storage form of glucose, by the liver’s hepatic cells via a process called glycogenesis. So both the Pancreas and the Liver are involved in regulating blood sugar. That is why too much fat in the liver is a problem to diabetes patient.

Your question is highly educative.
