Hi all. I was offered a choice of a naija used Mazda 626 97 model and Nissan Primera 94 model.
If u were to choose between these cars which would you rather go for in terms of Cheap maintenance, availability of affordable parts, low fuel consumption and good second hand value in case you bought it naija used, i mean not so frequent going to the mechanic Everytime.

what's the transmission type and engine size of Both cars?

They are both Manual transmission

The Mazda had 2 options 1.8L and 2.0 though one is sedan and one is lift/hatch back

The Primera is 1.8

They are all naija used though

I think it would have being better, if u snapped both cars. How neatly used or physically abused the car is, matters sometimes.

It actually escaped my mind the day i was there. Nevertheless both vehicle Chasis still looks ok in the eyes sir.

@op. I am no car expert like gazzuz and ikenna and the rest of the car techies here but if I were you, I will go wit the Mazda. Thank God you got a manual version. I heard automatic transmission do give problem. A Mazda is in the list of cars I am drawing up to buy. Good luck tho

I am using exactly that type of mazda, mine is automatic transmission, i bought it naija used and till now i have never had a mechanic, i have serviced it twice within one year of ownership. That edition of mazda 626 is highly reliable

I know very little about Mazdas, but I am crazy about Nissans and that tells you which I favour.

That Primera you see there doesn't die - just keeps going. Aside changing front shocks, which is about #8000- tokunbo, just keep driving.

Interestingly, I have nothing against the 626.

But like I always say, YOU will eventually have to make the choice and live with it. Brace up your mind, close your eyes, jump! That's how to man a car.

Again op, I am with the Primera.

Ofcos I wld do the 2000 Mazda over the 2000 P11 primera
