how do you know you bought a "tokumbor" car? How are you sure the engine was not recently rebuilt?

Congratulations on your new car, just typing from experience.

Well from my little knowledge, I did a Vin check. I saw the car online, exactly what I was given including the mileage.
I saw a custom paper showing D day it was cleared. Things tallied. Really I have learnt a few things on NL including from you gazzuz. Now answer my question o.

If a vehicle is bought used, it is always advisable to service it (so u can track your new service records)......
If vehicle appears like it was recently serviced, have you checked the state of the air filter, cabin filter, brake pads, tyres etc etc etc? If all appears OK, keep rocking till next service is due
NB : Is your vehicle belt or chain driven? If belt and mileage dictates a change, consider doing that.........

as the poster said, good to have your own record, but in the mean time look top left of the windshield, most times a service tag is placed there.
