Very few people took President Muhammadu Buhari's Independence Day Speech Seriously. However, in the next weeks and months, we are likely to see activity from the Buhari administration that is aimed at ensuring its 3 major objectives are achieved:

1. Ensuring security improves across the country.

2. Decisively dealing with corruption.

3. Reviving the economy.

Already, we have witnessed air strikes against illegal refineries, oil bunkerers and militants in the NigerDelta in the past week.

We have a crackdown on elements within the judiciary that are perceived to be corrupt.

Efforts are being made to guarantee funding especially from foreign institutions for the 2017 budget with key intervention in different sectors of the economy.

These are the obvious steps. However, I have little doubt that there will be more unexpected and decisive steps to be taken in the near future.

Good let them stick to simple responsibilities. Handle secruity, rule of law, property rights, and infastrure improvements. Let private industry have economic freedom and we the people will revive economy.
