As part of efforts to ensure thorough reconciliation
of all aggrieved members of the All Progressives
Congress in Ondo state due to the events that
surrounded the party's governorship primary
election, reconciliation committees have been set
up.
The reconciliation committees were inaugurated
yesterday by the party's governorship candidate
Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN).
The reconciliation committees are in three folds,
one for each senatorial district and each headed by
an elder of the party in the respective districts.
Membership of the reconciliation committee for
Ondo North Senatorial District include;
1. Dr. Tunji Abayomi, one of the APC governorship
aspirants serving as chairman.
2. Hon.Taofeek Abdulsalam
3. Akin Aibinuomo
4.Moyosola Oladunni
5. Dotun Owanikin
6. Foluso Babade
7. Femi Osedimbo
That for Ondo Central include;
1. Senator Ayo Akinyelure, a former senator
representing the district as chairman
2. Ademola Adegoroye
3. Gboyega Adedipe
4. Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye
5. Hon. Ayo Agbomuserin
6. Agboola Kelly
Ondo South reconciliation committee has 1. Femi
Agagu, the former Chief of Staff to late Dr.Olusegun
Agagu as chairman.
2. Princes Oladunni Odu
3. Diran Iyantan
4. Yele Akinya
5. Oluyide Mekuleyi
6. Festus Adefiranye
7. Chief POA Oyetan.
The main mandate of the three groups is to
reconcile party members in all the three senatorial
districts of the state.
The party's candidate who spoke during the
inauguration of the committees in Akure yesterday
said it is important for APC to go into the November
26 governorship election as one family with a
common objective.
Recall that the emergence of Mr.Akeredolu has torn
the party apart with some aggrieved members
defecting to other political parties.

This is a futile exercise. Tunji Abayomi is an awful miscast for the role of a mediator.

Hope it works. I seriously doubt it.

No need for reconciliation, it won't do much. There already exists within the party a pungent stench of suspicion, distrust and betrayal. Everything now is flaky, and would remain so until its inevitable split in a few years. Just concentrate on the forthcoming elections as though there was no crisis. Reason, you can't meet the reconciliatory demands of shortchanged party members. Too late. More meetings, deepening discord.
