The National Judicial Council (NJC) may have had a rethink on its position and resolve to investigate complaints of corruption against some judges. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/10/njc-recants-investigate-corrupt-judges/

Better for NJC to retract their position as the court of public opinion is against their crooked stance. After all the law is made for the people & not the people for the law. The voice of the people is said to be the voice of god, from senior advocate of the law to the ordinary citizens in the streets, except for those reprobate minds everyone else has stood against those vandals in the temple of justice to defend themselves rather than playing hide and seek. 27 Likes 1 Share |

The NJC has never said it won't investigate these judges, it only said, they won't be suspended without any investigation and indictment!! These headline is misleading!! The DSS has not written any petition to the NJC for them to investigate, that is what has been stalling the cases 12 Likes 1 Share |

Who will investigate the indicted APC stalwarts Will all these accusations and counter accusations be swept under the carpet? Are there sacred cows that can't be investigated? Remember: peace never prevails in an atmosphere of injustice 2 Likes 1 Share |

NJC doesn't have the power to investigate crime and this 'rethink ' is a facesaving measure after the DSS rightly refused to report any Judge who had committed a crime to NJC since NJC can't investigate crime. I think the DSS should beam it's light on the CJN himself because he has been leading the cover up for the corrupt judges. If Goodluck Jonathan could be castigated and cursed for the crimes of his ministers, there's no reason the CJN should not be blamed for the corruption unearthed so far. The final solution is to review the NJC law.The lawyers in NJC should not be more than 50% while representatives of other stakeholders in the judiciary should be represented, this Paddy paddy by lawyers has to stop!!! 21 Likes 1 Share |

Justice Mahmud should resign without further delay. He has lost the confidence of the people. By his utterances he has clearly taken sides with corrupt judges. His continued presence on the bench serves no one any good except judges with questionable character. This decision of his is an afterthought. 20 Likes 2 Shares |

This has always been the position of the NJC and there's no recant or change of position. It has never said it would not investigate any petitions eventually brought before it regarding any of the judges already victimised by the DSS. The position has always been that the proper procedure should be followed to enable the NJC make d proper recommendations after investigation and evaluation of whatever evidence. Riding roughshod over the members of the judiciary d way d DSS did remains condemned and contrary to equity, good conscience, public policy and constitutional provisions. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

My question is- what happens if the compromised and overly biased NJC clears them of even doing as much as farting in a crowded place?? Are they immune to investigation/prosecution by regular law enforcement agents 6 Likes |

double0seven:How exactly am I supporting corruption? You just want these judges pronounced guilty even when there is nothing on ground to prove that just because they didn't do the biddings of the executive!!! Well too bad for you. Law does not work that way 1 Like 1 Share |

Has the arrest of judges bring down the high inflation rate? Has the money recovered from the judges strengthened the naira? Thou I don't support corruption but many Nigerians are hungry, Buhari do something before it is too late. 1 Like 2 Shares |

We are not swallowing these investigations any more. If Buhari is serious about crime, how come the Emir of Katsina abducted a minor and Buhari said nothing? Fulani Herdsmen who are really Boko haram have been killing and he says nothing. General Buratai houses in Dubai, how far? 1 Like 1 Share |

kcnwaigbo:Thank u bro. DSS has got proof against these judges, but they refuse to yield it for use by the NJC, yet they want the NJC to suspend the judges. This is wat happens when protocols are flouted, the CJN is the last man standing: NBA has been compromised 2 Likes 1 Share |

An independent body should be investigating. How can a bunch of thieves, JUDGE another bunch of thieves? All the Judges in NJC trying to investigate, they all have conflict of interest. This is an ideal situation where recusal must be put to action (not all that Saraki drama). 2 Likes |
